The Pod Question — Read This Before Ordering
The entry pod shares a laptop screen to the board — nothing more. The full pods — WPP30 class — also carry the board’s camera and microphones back to the laptop, which is what makes a real BYOD room where a visitor’s own Zoom or Teams call uses the board as its camera and audio. Order the entry pod for a BYOD room and it arrives working — and wrong. One more planning truth from deep in the manuals: on some models, pairing a pod takes over the board’s wireless, which makes a network cable to the board part of the installation plan, not an afterthought. Can the MeetingBoard C run Teams or Zoom?
Not natively — and we say so before you buy, not after. The C is a Google Meet board. Guests on Teams or Zoom join through a laptop connected to the board, which then acts as their camera, microphones and screen. If your company’s own meetings run on Teams or Zoom, buy the board built for that platform instead.
Is the wall mount included in the box?
No — and quotations that hide this create delivery-day surprises. We quote the board, the correct mount or floor stand, and the installation labour as one visible figure, so the number you approve is the number that gets the room working.
Which wireless sharing pod do I need?
Depends on the job. Screen sharing only: the entry pod. A true BYOD room — where a visitor’s laptop uses the board’s camera and microphones for its own call: the full pods, WPP30 class. We confirm the pod with the room’s purpose so the right one arrives the first time.
Does the board need a network cable, or is Wi-Fi enough?
Plan the cable. Wi-Fi works for basic use, but on some models pairing a sharing pod takes over the board’s wireless — at which point Ethernet becomes required, not optional. Our installation runs the cable on day one so the room never discovers this the hard way.
How do whiteboard sessions leave the room?
Three ways on the C: saved to a USB drive, sent by email (once the mail connection is configured — part of our setup), or collected instantly by participants scanning a QR code on the board. On the Teams boards, the whiteboard lives in Microsoft Whiteboard and follows the meeting. Either way, nobody photographs a flipchart again.
What size board fits my room?
By people, honestly: 65-inch boards suit rooms up to about six people; 75 and 86-inch boards carry six to twelve. Beyond twelve, a board alone is not the answer — extended microphones or a different room design is, and we will say so. Send the room dimensions and the table size with your enquiry.
How are the boards managed by IT?
