Yealink discontinued the original RoomCast in February 2025 and named the RoomCast E2 as its successor — Android 14, AES-256 encryption, WPA3, a dual Wi-Fi architecture that stays smooth with a room full of devices, four simultaneous screens, and remote digital-signage management. Original units keep working and keep receiving support under Yealink’s end-of-life policy, and owners get the honest upgrade conversation, not a scare. Same pattern with the pods: the WPP30 is the current pod, and offices with older WPP20 fleets are told plainly what pairs with what before anything is invoiced.

Which devices can cast — Apple, Windows, Android?
All of them, each in its native language: AirPlay for MacBooks and iPhones, Miracast for Windows, Yealink’s own casting for Android and managed fleets, and the WPP30 pod for absolutely anyone — a guest plugs it in and taps, no setup at all. The RoomCast E2 speaks every one of these at once.
What does BYOD actually mean in a meeting room?
Bring Your Own Device: the visitor’s laptop becomes the meeting computer, and the room lends it everything — camera, microphones, speakers, screen. The meeting runs on whatever platform the laptop carries, which is exactly what saves the day when the client’s call is on a platform your room doesn’t run.
WPP30 or VCH51 Pro — which BYOD is right for us?
The WPP30 does it wirelessly — plug the pod into the laptop and the room’s camera and audio follow, no cable to the table. The VCH51 Pro is the one cable solution — a single USB-C and adds what wireless cannot: it charges the laptop while the meeting runs. Long meetings and hot-desking boardrooms tend to love the cable; walk-in guests love the pod. Many rooms sensibly run both.
Can several people share the screen at the same time?
On the RoomCast E2, yes — up to four devices side by side on one display, which turns design reviews and training sessions from a queue into a comparison. Presenters swap in and out with a tap.
Can it turn our ordinary TVs into something useful between meetings?
Yes — that is the digital signage side: when nobody is presenting, the RoomCast E2 displays your content — announcements, dashboards, welcome screens — pushed remotely to every display from one management console. The reception TV finally earns its wall.
Is wireless casting safe on a corporate network?
Done properly, yes: the RoomCast E2 carries AES-256 encryption and WPA3, its dual Wi-Fi architecture keeps casting stable even in crowded airspace, and we configure guest casting isolated from the corporate LAN so visitors share their screen without touching your network. IT signs off before we leave.
We already have the original RoomCast. What now?
It keeps working and keeps its support under Yealink’s end-of-life policy — the model was discontinued in February 2025 with the RoomCast E2 named as successor.
