The Teams Room is ready. Camera mounted. Touch console on the table. Then the wall screen decides to stay on HDMI 2 when the first client call arrives. Someone starts looking for a remote that disappeared three meetings ago. In a glass-partition boardroom in DIFC or JLT, that small problem is enough to make a properly specified room feel unfinished.
That is where the Yealink MeetingDisplay makes sense. It is not just a 4K panel carrying the Yealink logo. It is designed to work as the display layer of a Yealink meeting room, with coordinated input switching, display control from the room console, network pass-through and central device management. Why Use MeetingDisplay Instead of a Standard Commercial Screen?
A normal commercial display can show a Teams meeting. That part is easy. The difference appears during daily use. Someone changes the input for a laptop presentation in the morning. The next person walks into the room at 11:00 and expects the scheduled Teams call to appear. With separate equipment, the screen may still be on the laptop source.
Automatic Teams Input Switching
When MeetingDisplay is working with a compatible Yealink room system, an incoming Microsoft Teams call can bring the display back to the correct Teams input. So the screen that was showing a visitor’s presentation a few minutes earlier does not need someone standing underneath it pressing source buttons before the room can answer the call.
That sounds like a small detail until the room is used eight or ten times a day. Shared boardrooms in Business Bay, DMCC and Abu Dhabi offices are rarely operated by one trained user. Finance uses the room at 9:00. HR takes it at 10:30. A supplier plugs in a laptop after lunch. The less each person has to understand about the AV system, the better the room works.
Control the Screen From the Room Console
Brightness, contrast, volume and input selection can be controlled through the Yealink room interface. One control point on the meeting table. No second remote stored in a drawer, no batteries to replace, and no one pointing a handset at the display while the remote participants wait.
Sleep and wake behaviour can also coordinate with the room system. In offices where meeting rooms sit empty between bookings, that makes the display behave like part of the room rather than a television somebody has to remember to switch on and off.
55, 65, 75 or 86 Inch — Which MeetingDisplay Fits Your Room?
Screen size should be chosen from viewing distance and room geometry, not because the 86-inch model looks impressive on a quotation. A six-person room with chairs two metres from the wall normally does not need the same display as a long executive boardroom. Too small and spreadsheets become unreadable. Too large in a shallow room and people spend the meeting moving their eyes across an oversized picture.

Don’t select by seat count alone
A 10-seat room can be short and wide or long and narrow. Those rooms need different screen sizes. Send us the room length, table length and distance from the farthest seat to the display wall. One Network Point Behind the Screen? Dual Ethernet Helps
Retrofit jobs are where this matters. An existing JLT meeting room may have one Cat6 outlet behind the old television, one power point and no easy path back to the communications cabinet. Opening a finished wall just to add another network cable can turn a straightforward room upgrade into a facilities project.
Dual Ethernet for Cleaner Room Builds
MeetingDisplay includes dual Ethernet connectivity and can provide network connectivity onward to supported Yealink meeting-room equipment. Where the room design allows it, that can reduce the number of independent network drops required around the display position.
We still check the proposed layout before treating pass-through as the answer to every installation. Cable distance, device combination and wall position matter. But on a retrofit where the display wall already has limited infrastructure, this is one of the useful differences between MeetingDisplay and installing a random screen beside the Yealink system.
4K IPS, 500 Nits and 25% Haze — What Those Numbers Mean in Dubai
Meeting-room displays spend a lot of time fighting reflections. Dubai offices love glass: glass walls, glass doors, polished stone, glossy table tops and windows running from floor to ceiling. Put a highly reflective display opposite that and half the table sees the window instead of the spreadsheet.
MeetingDisplay uses an IPS panel with 4K resolution, 500-nit brightness and 25% haze. The haze treatment reduces mirror-like reflections from room lighting and nearby glass surfaces. It doesn’t make sunlight disappear, so we still avoid putting a meeting display directly opposite an uncovered west-facing window. But it is designed for commercial meeting spaces rather than the lighting conditions assumed for a living-room TV.
The built-in audio is two 12W speakers. In a room fitted with a MeetingBar or a separate Yealink audio system, the meeting hardware may remain the primary call audio path. The speakers still give the display its own usable local audio for presentations and other room use.

MeetingDisplay should be understood as the screen component of the room, not as a standalone Microsoft Teams Room appliance. The Teams intelligence still comes from the compatible Yealink meeting system connected to it. That distinction matters when a project is being specified: buying the display alone does not turn an empty meeting room into a Teams Room.
For a complete room, MeetingDisplay can sit alongside products from the Yealink Microsoft Teams range, with the correct camera, compute hardware, touch controller and audio selected for the room size. If the organisation uses guest laptops regularly, wired HDMI and the supported wireless presentation methods give visitors a direct route onto the room screen without changing the permanent meeting-room setup.
That split works well in UAE offices where the room belongs to Teams internally but external clients arrive using different laptops and meeting platforms. The permanent room remains predictable. Guests still get a screen for their content. No one needs to dismantle the installed system every time a visitor walks in.
Wireless Sharing Without Rebuilding the Room
A meeting-room display spends almost as much time showing laptops as it does showing video calls. Visitors arrive with MacBooks. Consultants bring Windows machines locked down by their own IT department. Someone from finance just wants to put an Excel sheet on the wall for ten minutes. MeetingDisplay supports Yeacast, Miracast and AirPlay, so the permanent Teams Room does not have to be dismantled whenever somebody needs to present.
HDMI input is there for the simple wired route. Yealink also describes the HDMI path as near-zero latency, which matters when the presenter is moving through a large spreadsheet, video clip or detailed drawing and expects what happens on the laptop to appear on the room screen immediately.
A compatible Yealink presentation pod adds another wireless option. That is useful in shared rooms where guest laptops change every hour and asking each visitor to work through the room’s permanent conferencing setup isn’t realistic. Important: Display vs BYOD System
MeetingDisplay can receive and show content, but the display itself is not the room camera, microphone or conferencing computer. If you want a visitor’s laptop to use the installed room camera and microphones for Zoom, Google Meet, Webex or another platform, the connected Yealink room system and the correct BYOD accessory must provide that function.
Does MeetingDisplay Connect to an Etisalat, du or Office PABX?
No — not directly. MeetingDisplay is the screen in the room. It does not register as a SIP extension and it does not replace an IP phone, PABX or video-conferencing endpoint.
If the meeting room needs telephone calling through an existing 3CX, Grandstream UCM, Yeastar, Avaya or other SIP environment, that integration is handled by the conferencing or communications equipment connected to the display. The same applies to Etisalat or du business voice services. We check the complete room design before promising PSTN or SIP calling because the answer depends on the room system, not the MD55, MD65, MD75 or MD86 panel.

Mounting MeetingDisplay With the Room Hardware
The cleanest installs are planned as one assembly. Yealink has dedicated MeetingDisplay mounting hardware rather than expecting the camera bar, PTZ camera and display to be mounted as unrelated pieces. The current accessory range includes the MD-WallMount plus dedicated AV brackets for different Yealink meeting-room configurations.

This matters on finished walls. Especially in DIFC offices with stone feature panels, executive rooms with timber cladding, or glass-heavy DMCC fit-outs where drilling a second set of holes after handover isn’t a minor job. We match the bracket to the room hardware before installation starts.

Managing the Screen With the Rest of the Yealink Room
One reason IT teams specify MeetingDisplay is that the screen does not have to become another isolated device on the asset list. Yealink Management Cloud Service, or YMCS, can manage MeetingDisplay alongside supported Yealink meeting-room equipment from the same management environment.
For a company rolling out rooms across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, that matters more than it does for one boardroom. Twenty ordinary screens can mean twenty devices being treated separately from the conferencing hardware attached to them. The Yealink approach keeps the display closer to the room-system management model.
The 55-inch model has another specific use case: Yealink rates MD55 for 7-day, 24-hour operation. That makes it useful where the screen remains active outside normal meeting-room hours for reception information, internal announcements or digital signage. MD65, MD75 and MD86 are rated for 7-day, 18-hour operation, so we don’t present all four sizes as identical in that respect.

Is MeetingDisplay itself a Microsoft Teams Room?
No. MeetingDisplay is Yealink’s display for MTR room deployments. The Teams Room function comes from the compatible Yealink conferencing system connected to it. The advantage is that the display can coordinate with that room system for functions such as automatic source switching and display control.
Can a visitor show a MacBook or Windows laptop on the MeetingDisplay?
Yes. MeetingDisplay supports HDMI input plus wireless presentation methods including AirPlay, Miracast and Yeacast. Compatible Yealink presentation pods can also be used where the room requires a dedicated wireless-sharing workflow.
Will MeetingDisplay connect directly to our Etisalat, du or 3CX phone system?
No. The display itself is not a SIP endpoint. Any PABX, SIP trunk, Etisalat or du voice integration has to be provided by the room’s conferencing or communications system. We check that separately when specifying the room.
