A normal gateway holds one SIM per calling channel: eight channels, eight SIMs, and when a SIM’s package runs dry or the operator’s fair-use limit slows it, that channel suffers until someone drives to the site. The Multi-SIM class changes the arithmetic: four SIM slots stand behind every channel, all on the front panel, all hot-swappable, and the gateway rotates between them by rules you set — by run time, so no single SIM burns its fair-use allowance, and by remaining balance, so a drained SIM hands over to a full one mid-day without a dropped service. An 8-channel VF carries 32 SIMs; the VG chassis carries 128. For an operation whose calling and SMS run on operator packages, this is not a luxury — it is the difference between managing SIMs as a daily chore and managing them monthly. Balance check, PIN management, per-SIM statistics and 10,000-line local CDR are built in, and the front-panel design means a SIM swap takes seconds, not a screwdriver.

VE, VF or VG — which Dinstar model do I need?
Count two things: simultaneous calls, and how much SIM management you do. Up to 8 concurrent calls with one SIM per channel — UC2000-VE-4T or 8T. The same calls but with package rotation, balance juggling or SMS volume — the VF Multi-SIM with 4 SIMs behind each channel. Beyond 16 channels, or a SIM fleet in the hundreds — the VG chassis at 32 channels and 128 SIMs.
What does Multi-SIM actually mean?
Four hot-swappable SIM slots behind every calling channel, all on the front panel. The gateway rotates between them by run time or remaining balance, so operator fair-use limits are respected, a drained SIM hands over automatically, and swapping a card takes seconds. An 8-channel VF holds 32 SIMs; the 32-channel VG holds 128.
Will Dinstar VoLTE gateways work on Etisalat and du?
Yes — the -T models are ordered in the LTE band variant matching the UAE networks, register on 4G with VoLTE for voice, and fall back to 3G where useful. Because UAE 2G is retired, the -T generation is the only Dinstar generation we recommend for installation here; we confirm the correct band variant before every order.
How does the SMS API work?
Three doors into the same capability: an HTTP API your applications call directly, SMPP for platforms that speak it, and email-to-SMS with SMS-to-email coming back. Delivery reports, Unicode support, and USSD for balance checks are included — your monitoring, ERP and PBX send through your own SIMs with no per-message middleman.
Does it work with 3CX and Yeastar PBX systems?
Yes. Dinstar lists 3CX, Asterisk, Cisco, Avaya, BroadSoft and FreeSWITCH interoperability, and we configure these gateways against Yeastar P-Series and S-Series routinely — the gateway registers as a SIP trunk, your outbound routes decide which calls ride the SIMs, and the configuration is done before delivery.
Is SIM rotation legal?
Rotating your own business SIMs to use your own operator packages within their terms — yes. What is illegal in the UAE is SIM-box call termination: carrying other parties’ international traffic through local SIMs to dodge operator interconnect. We supply for lawful enterprise use, configure for exactly that, and say so plainly before we sell.
Do you still supply the 2G/3G Dinstar models?
Yes — for export. The UC2000-VE-4G and 8G cannot register on UAE networks since the 2G shutdown, but across many of our 51 export countries 2G and 3G remain live and busy, and these units are priced for exactly that job, shipped from Dubai with documentation handled.
