The Yealink AVBridge is built for that gap between simple USB meeting-room hardware and a full rack-mounted Pro AV design. Where AVBridge Fits — And Where It Doesn’t
AVBridge makes sense when the room has moved beyond a tabletop microphone but doesn’t need a large DSP installation. Think an 8-to-12-seat meeting room in Business Bay where the client wants the table completely clear. A CM20 or CM50 sits in the ceiling, speakers are already fitted, and the camera or host computer isn’t mounted in the same place as the audio equipment. AVBridge becomes the connection point between those parts.
It also works well in retrofit projects. DIFC and JLT offices often come with ceiling speakers left from a previous fit-out. Pulling those speakers out simply because the new meeting-room system uses Yealink hardware adds cost and ceiling work. AVBridge can work with Yealink speakers or supported third-party Dante and analog speaker paths, so the existing room audio may be reusable after the system design is checked.

Don’t choose it only because it is smaller
AVBridge has 4×4 Dante channels and essential processing. A training room, divisible conference room or design with many microphones, many speaker zones and heavier DSP requirements should be designed around a larger audio processor such as the Yealink AP08. Send the room drawing before ordering. The correct processor depends on the signal count and room layout, not just the number of seats.
A Small Box Doing Four Different Jobs
Calling AVBridge a USB extender misses most of the product. It sits in the Yealink Room Audio & Microphones range because its main value is bringing several AV signal jobs into the same room design.
First, it provides 4×4 Dante transmit and receive channels. That lets compatible audio travel across a Dante network rather than requiring a dedicated point-to-point analog cable for every signal. Second, Phoenix analog audio I/O gives the installer a path for analog equipment. Useful when the room isn’t 100% network audio. Third, USB extension lets camera, DSP or other AV signals be bridged to the meeting host when those devices aren’t sitting beside the PC.
Then there is the processing layer. AVBridge has a matrix mixer for choosing where audio is sent and PEQ for basic room tuning. Those two functions matter in real installations. A microphone signal may need to reach the meeting PC while a different output feeds the room speakers. Gain or frequency response may need adjustment after the ceiling, glass and flooring are finished. You can deal with those routing and tuning requirements inside the AVBridge design instead of adding another small processor just to fix the signal path.
4×4 Dante for Network Audio
AVBridge provides four Dante transmit channels and four receive channels. In a room using a CM50 Dante ceiling microphone or Dante-compatible speakers, audio can be routed through the network instead of building the whole room around separate analog cable runs. This is particularly useful when the equipment rack and meeting table aren’t on the same side of the room.
Matrix Mixer + PEQ
The built-in matrix mixer controls signal routing between connected audio paths. PEQ gives the engineer basic frequency adjustment during commissioning. Glass walls, hard flooring and low suspended ceilings all change how a room sounds. The final settings should be made in the finished room, with the HVAC running and the doors closed — not from a drawing.
A/V Extension for BYOM Rooms
AVBridge can bridge camera or audio signals back to the meeting host, giving the installer more freedom over where the PC, camera and audio hardware are mounted. That’s useful in BYOM rooms where users bring a laptop but the room’s installed camera, microphones and speakers need to behave as the meeting hardware.
CM20 or CM50 — The Microphone Limit Matters
Yealink gives AVBridge two clear ceiling-microphone configurations: one CM50, or up to four CM20 microphones. Don’t mix that up with the limits of AVHub or AP08. They are different host devices with different system capacities.
The CM50 is the Dante beamforming option. Yealink specifies 127 microphone elements and a 5-metre premium pickup radius under its stated acoustic test conditions. For an executive boardroom where the ceiling microphone needs defined pickup areas and a Dante audio path, CM50 is normally the more capable direction.
CM20 takes a different approach and can be deployed in groups of up to four with AVBridge. That makes it useful where the room geometry needs several ceiling pickup positions rather than one central microphone. The right count depends on room dimensions, table position, ceiling height and where participants actually sit. A 10-seat room with a long narrow table isn’t the same audio problem as a square 10-seat room.
Room Designer — Configure It Before the Test Call
Yealink Room Designer is part of the AVBridge deployment workflow. The software is used to lay out the room design, configure audio channels and adjust system parameters. AVBridge also has a one-touch deployment button, reducing the amount of manual setup required when the same design is being rolled across several rooms.
This matters on multi-room UAE projects. Five meeting rooms in the same office may look identical on the architect’s plan but behave differently after furniture and glass go in. Room Designer gives the installer a common starting point. The final EQ and routing still need to be checked room by room. HVAC noise alone can change considerably between two rooms on the same floor.
For projects that also need cameras, room systems and content-sharing hardware, AVBridge can form one piece of a wider Yealink video conferencing installation. The point isn’t to force every room into the same architecture. It is to use AVBridge where its 4×4 audio and extension capacity is enough, then move to a larger processor where the signal design requires it.

Teams, Zoom and BYOM — What AVBridge Actually Supports
AVBridge is infrastructure, not the meeting platform. It doesn’t replace a Microsoft Teams Room PC, Zoom Rooms computer or BYOM laptop, and it shouldn’t be advertised as a standalone Teams or Zoom endpoint. Its job is to get the room’s audio and AV signals to the host that runs the meeting.

In a Teams Room, the Teams-certified room system remains the meeting endpoint while AVBridge handles the installed audio path around it. Yealink’s wider SkySound range is designed around Teams Room deployments using CM20 and CM50 ceiling audio. For Zoom deployments or another conferencing platform, the same principle applies: the conferencing computer runs the call; AVBridge deals with supported room AV connectivity.
A BYOM room is another strong use case. A visitor can run the meeting from their laptop while the installed room hardware stays in place. BYOM, USB Extension and Content Sharing — Keep the Jobs Separate
AVBridge helps a BYOM room use installed cameras, microphones and speakers from a meeting host that sits somewhere else in the room design. That host might be a dedicated room computer or a visitor’s laptop. AVBridge handles the supported AV connection path. The laptop still runs Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or Webex itself.
This distinction matters when specifying a Dubai boardroom. AVBridge isn’t a wireless presentation button and it isn’t a conferencing computer. If somebody needs to walk into a DMCC meeting room, plug one device into a laptop and share content wirelessly, that requirement sits in the Yealink Wireless Presentation & BYOD range. If the requirement is getting ceiling audio and installed AV signals back to that host cleanly, AVBridge handles that side of the design.
We normally separate these two questions during the room survey: how does the meeting start, and how does the room hardware reach the meeting host? Keeping those jobs separate avoids buying a presentation accessory when the actual problem is audio routing, or installing an audio processor when the room only needed a simpler sharing workflow.
PABX, Etisalat and du — AVBridge Does Not Register as a Phone
AVBridge has no job registering to an office SIP extension. It isn’t a desk phone, SIP gateway or PABX endpoint. There is no Etisalat or du SIP account entered into the AVBridge itself. The conferencing host or separate room system handles the meeting and telephony platform; AVBridge handles supported audio and AV signals around that host.
If a company wants its meeting room to dial standard telephone numbers through 3CX, Grandstream UCM, Yeastar, Avaya or another office PABX, that calling function has to be provided by the connected room platform or a separate SIP-capable endpoint. We check that path during system design instead of pretending every device in the rack needs a SIP account.
For UAE offices using Etisalat or du services, the same rule applies. AVBridge can sit inside the audio architecture of the room while the actual voice service stays on the approved PBX or conferencing host. Two separate layers. Much easier to support later.
What’s in the Box — And What the Room Still Needs

More important: AVBridge isn’t a complete meeting room by itself. A working design still needs the correct microphone, speaker path, meeting host, camera and network architecture for the room. Depending on the layout, that can mean one CM50, up to four CM20 microphones, Dante or analog speakers, a Teams or Zoom room system, and the required structured cabling.

A Typical Dubai Installation — Existing Ceiling Speakers, New Meeting Room
Picture a DIFC office taking over a fitted floor. The boardroom already has four ceiling speakers, CAT6 in the ceiling void and a display on the wall. The old conferencing equipment has been removed. The new requirement is a ceiling microphone, a camera and a room computer without putting microphones back on the table.
That is where AVBridge earns its place. We first check whether the existing speaker path can be reused. Yealink AVBridge Questions Buyers Ask Before Ordering
Can I connect four CM20 ceiling microphones to one AVBridge?
Yes. AVBridge supports up to four Yealink CM20 microphones. The alternative supported ceiling-microphone configuration is one CM50. We choose between them from the room layout rather than mixing the two approaches on assumption.
Will AVBridge work with the ceiling speakers already installed in our DIFC office?
Possibly. AVBridge supports Yealink speakers and third-party Dante or analog audio paths, but the existing amplifier, speaker type and wiring need to be checked first. Send the speaker model or a photo of the rack before ordering replacements.
Does AVBridge work with both Microsoft Teams and Zoom?
AVBridge doesn’t run either meeting platform itself. It sits in the room’s AV infrastructure. A Teams Room, Zoom Room or BYOM computer runs the meeting, while AVBridge handles supported audio routing and AV extension around that host.
