Many fitted meeting rooms have glass walls, raised flooring that can’t be opened without facilities approval, or tables that were installed after the AV cabling was finished. You can have a perfectly good Yealink video conferencing system at the display and still lose the quieter speaker sitting at the opposite end of the table.

The VCM36-W uses 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networking with 802.11n/ac support. Security is handled with WPA2 and AES128 encryption. Once paired to the supported room device, it can be repositioned when the room layout changes. No need to cascade tabletop microphones together with another visible cable running down the centre of the table.

What the 3-Microphone Array Actually Covers

Mute control stays on the table. A capacitive touchpad on the VCM36-W lets somebody sitting near the microphone mute it without reaching for the room controller. Frequency response is specified at 100Hz to 8kHz, a range aimed at spoken meeting audio rather than music playback.

12-Hour Battery for Rooms Used Through the Working Day

The built-in battery is rated at 2450mAh. Yealink specifies up to 12 hours of use in conference mode and up to 7 days of standby. That gives a meeting room enough runtime for a full Dubai working day without having a charging cable attached during every call.

The microphone comes with its charging cradle. Put the cradle at the sideboard, credenza or AV cabinet and return the mic after the last meeting. The microphone itself measures 100mm in diameter and 16.5mm high; the charging cradle is also 100mm in diameter and 10.5mm high. Teams, Zoom and Other Meeting Platforms

The VCM36-W itself doesn’t run Microsoft Teams, Zoom or another conferencing app. It’s the room microphone. Platform support comes from the Yealink host system it is paired with. That distinction matters when you’re adding audio to an existing room rather than buying a complete room kit.

For example, Yealink’s MeetingBar A40 supports additional expansion microphones, so the room platform remains whatever is configured on the A40 while the VCM36-W handles additional table audio. For other Yealink systems, confirm the exact model first. We don’t assume compatibility from the connector type or product generation.

What Comes With the VCM36-W

The Yealink VCM36-W package includes the wireless microphone itself and its charging cradle. The charging cradle is worth planning into the room rather than leaving loose in an AV cupboard. In a boardroom used from 8AM through late-afternoon client calls, staff can return the microphone to one fixed charging point at the end of the day. Less chance of somebody carrying it into another room and wondering the next morning why the battery is empty.

Pairing It With an Existing Yealink Meeting Room

This is where we ask for the model number before sending a quotation. “Yealink meeting room” isn’t enough. The host device determines whether the VCM36-W can be paired and how many expansion microphones that particular system supports.

If you’ve already installed a MeetingBar, MVC room kit or another current Yealink conferencing system, send us the exact model shown on the device label. We check the microphone path before supply. That avoids the familiar Dubai installation problem where an accessory reaches site, the meeting is tomorrow morning, and only then does somebody discover the room hardware belongs to a different generation.

Does It Work With Teams, Zoom, Etisalat or du?

The microphone doesn’t register to Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Etisalat, du or a PABX on its own. There is no SIP account inside the VCM36-W. It sends meeting-room audio through the compatible Yealink host device, and that host system handles the conferencing platform or telephone integration.

So if a Teams Room uses a compatible Yealink system, the VCM36-W becomes one of that room’s microphone sources. Same principle for a compatible Zoom Room. If the room system is connected to an office PABX for telephone calls, the microphone audio follows that call path through the room system rather than connecting directly to the PABX.

A Better Fit for Rooms Where the Table Moves

Some meeting rooms never change. Fixed boardroom table, fixed seats, floor box directly below the centre. In that room a wired microphone may be perfectly sensible.

Other rooms change every week. A project team in Business Bay pushes two tables together for a 12-person review, then separates them for training the following afternoon. A serviced office in JLT uses the same room for interviews in the morning and a client presentation after lunch. A DMCC tenant has glass partitions and no permission to open the raised floor for another cable route.

That’s where the VCM36-W earns its place. Move the table, then move the microphone. The 100mm circular unit isn’t tied to a floor box or a fixed cable exit. You still need to respect the stated 6-metre pickup range, but you can put that coverage where today’s seating layout needs it.
