Twenty desks, glass partitions, two sales teams talking at the same time and an HVAC vent directly above row three. That’s a normal Dubai office floor. The difficult part isn’t hearing the Teams call in your headset. It’s stopping the person at the other end from hearing the conversation happening one desk behind you.
That’s where the UH48 is different from a basic USB office headset. It deals with noise in two directions. Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation reduces what reaches your ears, while a separate four-microphone voice noise-cancelling system works with Yealink Acoustic Shield Technology 3.0 to isolate what reaches the call. Six microphones are built into the headset in total. Different microphones are doing different jobs.
For a customer-service desk in Dubai, a sales floor in JLT or a finance team working behind glass partitions in DIFC, that distinction matters. Two Types of Noise Control — Not the Same Job
Headset specifications often put every noise feature into one sentence. That makes it difficult to understand what you’re actually buying. On the UH48, there are two separate systems.
Hybrid ANC — for the person wearing the headset
Active Noise Cancellation reduces surrounding sound reaching your ears. Think constant HVAC noise, conversations across an open floor and the steady background sound from a busy reception area. The UH48 uses four microphones for its Hybrid ANC system and lets the wearer switch between noise cancelling, ambient sound and off modes.
Four-microphone voice isolation — for the person on the call
Yealink Acoustic Shield Technology 3.0 works with four microphones and a voice-isolation algorithm to reduce sound arriving from around the speaker. If somebody beside you starts another call, the UH48 is designed to keep your voice in front rather than treating the entire desk area as useful audio.
That makes the UH48 especially relevant for contact centres and shared office floors. ANC alone doesn’t solve outgoing microphone noise. Microphone noise cancellation alone doesn’t make a loud workplace easier for the user to sit in. The UH48 addresses both sides of the conversation.
Microsoft Teams Premium Open Office Certification
The Teams version isn’t simply a headset with a Teams button. Yealink states that the UH48 is certified for Microsoft Teams Premium Open Office. That’s a useful distinction when the buying requirement is 30, 80 or 200 headsets for people sitting close together.
Open-office certification focuses on the environment where ordinary microphone performance starts to fall apart: nearby voices, multiple simultaneous calls and less physical separation between desks. Exactly the layout we see in Dubai customer-service teams, real-estate sales offices and shared operations floors.
There are separate Teams and UC versions. The UH48 Dual Teams USB-C/A is part number 1308151. The UH48 Dual UC USB-C/A is part number 1308152. If you’re standardising a Microsoft Teams estate, quote the Teams SKU rather than assuming both boxes are identical.
USB-C and USB-A Without Another Adapter Order
The headset terminates in USB-C and Yealink includes a USB-A adapter. That’s a small detail until you’re deploying across an office where the new laptops have USB-C and half the existing desktops still expose USB-A at the front.
One UH48 SKU can cover both connection types. Plug it into the workstation and use it as a wired USB audio device. There is no wireless pairing stage and no headset battery specification to manage because the UH48 doesn’t use a battery.
The cable is 1.7 metres long. Enough for a laptop on a monitor riser, a desktop tower below the desk or the USB port on the opposite side of a standard workstation. For organisations deliberately choosing wired headsets so devices stay assigned to desks, that fixed connection can be an advantage rather than a limitation.
Call Controls You Can Use Without Hunting for the App
The UH48 provides physical controls for answering, ending and rejecting a call, volume adjustment, play and pause, microphone mute and ANC mode selection. Raise the microphone boom to mute. Lower it again to unmute. Simple enough that a new contact-centre agent doesn’t need a five-minute headset briefing.
Dual busylights give colleagues a visible indication that the user is occupied. Yealink positions the lights so the red status signal can be seen from different directions rather than only from one side of the headset. Useful when desks face different directions or staff move around behind a seated agent.

Audio for Calls and Music Uses Different Bandwidth
Inside each earcup is a 30 mm driver. Yealink specifies a 20 Hz to 20 kHz speaker frequency response, with the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz bandwidth available in music mode. Talk mode is tuned to 100 Hz to 8 kHz, concentrating on the range that matters for speech.
Adaptive EQ changes the headset’s audio behaviour according to what you’re doing. Voice call at 10:00. Training video at 10:45. Music while clearing email at lunch. You don’t need to treat the UH48 as a voice-only contact-centre headset just because it has a boom microphone.
Yealink also includes hearing-protection controls. The official datasheet identifies Peak Block Protection under EN50332, Australian G616 protection and Daily Noise Exposure Protection. For teams wearing headsets for an entire working day, hearing protection belongs in the procurement discussion alongside microphone quality.

Not the right fit?
If your staff need to leave the desk while staying on calls, the UH48 isn’t the right headset. It’s a 1.7-metre wired USB model. Look at our Yealink wireless headset options instead. Yealink states compatibility with more than 100 platforms and operating systems, while the official datasheet specifically identifies Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS. For a large UAE deployment, we still recommend confirming the exact softphone, USB desk phone or contact-centre application before ordering project quantities. One test unit can save a lot of assumptions.
Using the UH48 With a Yealink Desk Phone
A wired USB headset doesn’t register to a PABX by itself. The UH48 connects to a compatible computer or USB-capable desk phone; the phone or softphone handles the SIP account. That distinction matters when an office is running extensions through 3CX, Yeastar, Grandstream, Avaya or an Etisalat or du business voice service.
Yealink includes the UH48 in its desk-phone headset guidance, but support depends on the phone family and USB connection available. For example, Yealink specifically documents USB headset call control on the T34W. Other phone families have their own connection rules. We don’t recommend ordering 60 headsets on the assumption that every existing desk phone behaves the same way.
Already using Yealink desk phones?
Send us the exact phone model before the order — T34W, T54W, T46U or whatever is actually on the desks. We check the headset connection against that model before specifying the UH48. For mixed estates, test one desk first and then roll out the remaining quantity.

What’s in the UH48 Box
Yealink keeps the standard package simple. You get the UH48 headset, a waterproof zipper bag and the quick-start guide. The headset uses a USB-C cord and comes with the USB-A adapter needed for older PCs or compatible USB desk phones.
The zipper bag is useful if the headset belongs to a hybrid worker rather than a permanently assigned call-centre desk. Laptop, headset, bag. Less chance of the boom arm or ear cushions getting damaged between the office and home.
Not included — order separately if needed
Replacement ear cushions are optional accessories. A desk-phone adapter isn’t automatically required because compatibility depends on the exact phone model and its USB support. Tell us the phone model before adding adapters that may not be needed.
Replaceable Cushions Matter on a 100-Desk Rollout
Headsets in a call centre don’t live the same life as a headset used for two Teams calls from home. They’re worn for hours, five or six days a week. Ear cushions collect sweat and skin oils, cables get wrapped around monitor arms, and a headset that still works electrically can look tired long before the electronics fail.
The UH48 uses replaceable ear cushions rather than making the whole headset disposable when the pads wear out. Yealink also specifies hydrolysis-resistant leather on the cushions and a wear-resistant cable designed for repeated coiling. In Dubai, where someone may carry the headset through a hot car park before entering an air-conditioned office, material choice isn’t a decorative specification.
For shared desks, we’d still assign cushions personally where hygiene policy requires it. For fixed desks, keeping a small quantity of replacement cushions with IT can extend the usable life of the headset fleet without changing the USB device users already know.

Both versions use the same USB-C/A connection format and the same core UH48 audio hardware. Where Microsoft Teams is the company standard, specify the Teams part number rather than leaving the variant to chance. For mixed software environments, the UC edition may be the cleaner choice.
