Description
Yealink DE300 EN300 AP08 SkySound DSP & AV-over-IP System Dubai
The room works until somebody closes the partition. Then microphone zones change, the loudspeakers are suddenly serving two different meetings, and the HDMI run that looked fine on the drawing becomes a problem across 20 metres of ceiling void. Add Dubai HVAC noise, hard flooring and glass walls around the room, and a basic USB conference setup is no longer enough.
That is the type of project the Yealink DE300, EN300 and AP08 are built around. Not a desktop meeting accessory. Not a single-box video bar. These are infrastructure components for engineered Yealink SkySound and AV-over-IP rooms where audio processing, signal transport and room behaviour need to be designed before the installer starts pulling cable.
For a divisible boardroom in DIFC, a training room in Business Bay or a larger executive space in Abu Dhabi, the AP08 handles the DSP side while the EN300 and DE300 sit in the AV-over-IP signal path. The result is a room that can be designed around Dante audio, IP-based AV distribution and preset-driven operation instead of adding converters and point-to-point cables every time the layout changes.

Three Boxes, Three Different Jobs
The easiest way to understand this family is to stop treating DE300, EN300 and AP08 as versions of one product. They are different parts of the same room architecture.
AP08 — the room audio processor
AP08 sits in the audio path. It provides 16 × 16 Dante channels, 8 processing channels, 4 × 4 analogue audio and two USB 3.0 Type-B device interfaces. Its job is to deal with the part remote participants notice immediately: echo, room noise, reverberation, mixing and level control. For a SkySound ceiling-audio installation, this is the box doing the processing rather than simply passing audio through.
EN300 — AV-over-IP encoder
The EN300 handles the encoding side of Yealink’s AV-over-IP design. In practical terms, it is used where an AV source needs to enter the IP-based distribution system rather than travel as one long dedicated point-to-point cable. That matters in boardrooms, training rooms and divisible spaces where sources and displays may be separated by long cable paths or need to be routed differently depending on the room state.
DE300 — AV-over-IP decoder
The DE300 is the receiving side of that AV-over-IP path. It takes the distributed signal where it is needed in the room system. The encoder/decoder approach is useful when the system must send AV between multiple locations without designing the whole installation around fixed source-to-display cable routes.
This family belongs alongside Yealink’s wider Room Audio & Microphones Dubai range rather than being treated as a normal accessory. It also ties directly into larger Yealink video conferencing room designs where separate ceiling microphones, speakers, processors and conferencing hosts are used instead of an all-in-one bar.
AP08 Processing — What Changes in the Actual Room
DSP specifications make more sense when you connect them to the room. A microphone in a glass-walled DMCC boardroom does not only capture the person speaking. It also hears reflections, ceiling air-conditioning and sound returning from the room loudspeakers. The processor has to separate useful speech from everything around it before the signal is sent to the far side.
The AP08 provides dynamic acoustic echo cancellation, noise cancellation and reverberation suppression across its processing channels. These are different problems. Echo cancellation deals with far-end sound coming back through the room microphones. Noise processing works on steady or unwanted local sound. Reverberation suppression deals with the room itself — the tail of a voice bouncing off hard surfaces after somebody stops speaking.
That last one matters more in Dubai than many room drawings suggest. A boardroom can look excellent and still be acoustically difficult because three walls are glass, the table is stone or polished laminate and the ceiling has very little absorptive material. You hear the room clearly when standing inside it. Remote participants hear it even more.
Acoustic Adaptation
Yealink’s SkySound deployment workflow can measure the actual room and adjust processing parameters around the acoustic conditions found during commissioning. That gives the engineer a starting point based on the fitted room rather than copying the same DSP profile from one site to another.
Automatic EQ behaviour
The AP08 can work with Yealink’s room design so output EQ changes according to meeting state. Voice reproduction during a Microsoft Teams call does not need the same tonal balance as local media playback. The system can treat those operating states differently rather than forcing one speaker profile onto every source.
Divisible Rooms — Where AP08 Starts to Make Sense Fast
Take a hotel training room with a movable wall down the middle. At 9AM it is Room A and Room B, each running its own meeting. At 2PM the partition opens and it becomes one larger presentation room. The ceiling microphones haven’t moved. The speakers haven’t moved. What must change is the routing.
Yealink’s divisible-room design uses AP08 preset switching so the audio layout can follow the physical room state. With the wall closed, microphone and speaker zones can operate separately. When the room is combined, the processing and routing can move to a joined-room preset. Yealink’s wider AV ONE architecture also supports partition-sensing designs where the system reacts to the divider position rather than relying on a technician to reconfigure it each time.
The AP08’s two USB 3.0 Type-B device interfaces are particularly useful here because one processor can interface with separate conferencing hosts in a multi-room design. The exact room topology still needs to be engineered — especially when displays, cameras and source routing change with the partition — but the hardware is built for this kind of application.

AP08 is positioned inside Yealink’s professional room-audio architecture and is designed to work with SkySound components and Microsoft Teams room deployments. That does not mean the AP08 itself is a Teams Room computer or touch controller. It is the audio-processing layer underneath the conferencing system.
Likewise, EN300 and DE300 are transport components rather than meeting platforms. Their value appears when the project needs IP-based AV signal movement across the room or between equipment locations. For an IT manager, that distinction matters: these products are specified as part of the room design, not purchased as standalone replacements for a camera, codec or conferencing appliance.
Which Rooms Are Worth Designing Around AP08, DE300 and EN300?
| Room Type | Typical Need | Where This Family Fits |
|---|---|---|
| Large boardroom | Multiple ceiling microphones, distributed speakers, controlled processing | AP08 as the DSP layer |
| Divisible meeting room | Separate and combined audio states, multiple hosts, preset routing | AP08 with room-state design |
| Training room | Long cable paths, multiple AV destinations, ceiling audio | AP08 plus EN300 / DE300 where AV-over-IP is required |
| Small 4–8 seat meeting room | Single display, short cable paths, simple audio coverage | Usually unnecessary unless the room has a specific integration requirement |
Not the right fit?
If the room is a straightforward 4-to-8-seat meeting space with one display and no ceiling-audio requirement, building a full DSP and AV-over-IP system is normally unnecessary. A simpler Yealink meeting-room system will use fewer components and less rack space. AP08, DE300 and EN300 make sense when the room needs engineered audio, multiple signal destinations, long AV routes or divisible-room behaviour.
For Yealink DE300 / EN300 / AP08 projects in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, the correct starting point is the room drawing: dimensions, partition positions, ceiling microphone locations, speaker layout, displays, conferencing hosts and cable routes. Once those are known, the SkySound and AV-over-IP components can be selected around the actual job instead of adding hardware after installation has already started.
How Content Sharing and BYOD Fit Around the SkySound System
AP08, EN300 and DE300 do not replace the conferencing host. That distinction matters when the room also needs BYOD. A visitor’s laptop still joins Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or another meeting platform through the room’s conferencing hardware; the SkySound layer handles the engineered audio underneath it, while the AV-over-IP layer moves selected AV signals around the room design.
In a normal boardroom that may mean one conferencing PC feeding one display. In a training room, executive briefing space or divisible conference room, there can be several sources, several displays and more than one operating state. That is where the EN300 encoder and DE300 decoder become relevant: the AV path can be designed around the network architecture rather than depending entirely on fixed source-to-screen cable routes.
If wireless presentation or guest BYOD is part of the brief, it is designed as a separate layer using Yealink’s Wireless Presentation & BYOD products. We don’t describe the AP08 as a wireless presentation device because it isn’t one. The room design connects those functions together at system level.
What Usually Gets Ordered With AP08, EN300 and DE300
These units are normally part of a bill of materials, not a three-box bundle. A SkySound project can include ceiling microphones, ceiling speakers, a processor, the conferencing host, network switching and AV-over-IP endpoints. The exact mix depends on the room drawing.
Typical AP08 project components: AP08 DSP, compatible Yealink SkySound microphones, compatible ceiling speakers, conferencing system, network infrastructure and the cabling required by the room design.
Typical AV-over-IP project components: EN300 encoder at the source side, DE300 decoder at the destination side, AV network switching, displays and the required conferencing or presentation sources.
Divisible rooms: The design can also include room-control and partition-sensing components so the system changes operating state when the physical room is divided or combined.
Not included — specify these separately
Ceiling microphones, ceiling speakers, conferencing computer or codec, displays, AV network switch, rack hardware, partition sensor, control panel and presentation accessories are separate products unless specifically listed in your project quotation. We build the parts list from the room drawing so a processor does not arrive without the microphones, speakers or network components it needs.
Related SkySound and AV Room Components
For a ceiling-audio room, pair the DSP design with the Yealink CM50 or CM20 ceiling microphone range. These products cover the capture side while AP08 handles processing and routing.
For distributed room audio, the Yealink CS10 / CS10-D ceiling speaker family sits on the loudspeaker side of the SkySound design. Speaker quantity and placement are decided from room size and seating position rather than chosen as a fixed bundle.
Where the installation needs an AV network switch, the Yealink RCH80 AV switch is intended for smaller AV network builds, while the Yealink RCH240 AV switch covers larger port-count requirements.
For rooms that physically divide, the Yealink YPS20 partition sensor can form part of a room-state design so the AV system knows whether the movable wall is open or closed.
Control requirements can be handled through products such as the Yealink CT200 room control panel, depending on the finished system architecture.
If the project does not need a full AP08-class DSP, a smaller integration design may instead use the Yealink AVBridge. The right choice depends on the number of audio channels, conferencing hosts, AV destinations and room states involved.
What About PABX, Etisalat and du?
The DE300, EN300 and AP08 are not SIP phones and they do not register directly as office extensions. AP08 processes room audio. EN300 and DE300 move AV signals inside an AV-over-IP design. Your telephone service remains with the conferencing host, Teams environment, SIP gateway or office PABX used by the room.
If the meeting room must dial normal UAE telephone numbers through an Etisalat or du business line, that requirement is handled at the conferencing or PABX layer. We confirm that part of the design separately rather than claiming telephone-network compatibility for the DSP itself.
This separation is useful for IT teams. A future PABX change does not mean the ceiling microphone and DSP design has to be removed. Likewise, changing the room’s collaboration platform does not automatically require replacing the Dante audio infrastructure underneath it.
A Practical Dubai Use Case — Divisible Training Room
Picture a training suite in JLT with one movable acoustic wall. The full room is used for a 20-plus-person company session in the morning. After lunch, the partition closes and two departments run separate meetings. There are ceiling microphones and loudspeakers on both sides, displays at opposite ends and separate conferencing hosts when the space is divided.
With a fixed audio design, someone has to decide which microphones belong to which meeting every time the partition moves. A preset-based SkySound design gives the AP08 different operating states. Room A listens to its own microphones and plays through its own speakers. Room B does the same. Open the divider and the audio system can move to the combined-room configuration.
The AV side presents the same problem. A presenter may need the source at one end shown on several displays when the room is combined, but only on one display when divided. EN300 and DE300 are used in the AV-over-IP architecture where that signal routing needs to happen across the network rather than through a permanently fixed HDMI path.
This is also where proper commissioning matters. HVAC noise in a Dubai training room can change noticeably when both halves of the room are occupied. Glass doors add reflections. A DSP profile copied from another building won’t account for that. The room is measured and tuned after the ceiling, furniture, partitions and audio hardware are actually in place.
Supply, Design and Installation Across the UAE
Yealink DE300 / EN300 / AP08 UAE projects are supplied and installed across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. For these systems, installation starts before the equipment reaches site. We need the reflected ceiling plan, room dimensions, display positions, table layout, rack location and network path first.
In Abu Dhabi executive rooms, that often means coordinating ceiling microphone positions with the fit-out contractor before the ceiling closes. In DIFC and DMCC offices, the issue is commonly glass partitions and limited ceiling access. Business Bay training rooms tend to add another problem: long cable paths between the table, rack and front display.
Installation includes the physical equipment, connection of the specified room components, DSP configuration, routing setup and commissioning against the finished room. The system is tested in its intended room states before handover rather than being left on factory settings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need all three — AP08, EN300 and DE300 — in every room?
No. AP08 is the DSP for engineered room audio. EN300 and DE300 are used where the room design needs AV-over-IP transport. A boardroom may need AP08 without AV-over-IP, while a larger training or divisible room may use all three roles. The bill of materials should come from the room drawing, not from a fixed bundle.
Will AP08 help with HVAC noise and echo in a glass meeting room?
Yes, that is part of the DSP role. AP08 provides dynamic acoustic echo cancellation, noise cancellation and reverberation suppression. Final results still depend on microphone placement, speaker placement and the acoustics of the actual room, so commissioning is done after the space is fitted out.
Can one AP08 be used in a room with a movable partition?
Yes. Yealink documents AP08 in divisible-room designs using different processing and routing states for divided and combined operation. Its two USB 3.0 Type-B device interfaces are also useful in layouts involving separate conferencing hosts. The exact microphone, speaker and control topology must be designed for the specific room.
Can the AP08 connect directly to Etisalat or du as a phone extension?
No. AP08 is an audio DSP, not a SIP telephone endpoint. Etisalat or du calling is handled by the conferencing system, SIP gateway or office PABX. The AP08 processes the meeting-room audio underneath that system.
Can you design and install a SkySound room in Abu Dhabi as well as Dubai?
Yes. Supply, room design and installation cover Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and all 7 UAE emirates. For SkySound projects we normally review room dimensions, reflected ceiling plans, partition positions, display locations and rack placement before finalising the equipment list.
Are Yealink AP08, DE300 and EN300 available from Dubai stock?
Project supply is available from Dubai. WhatsApp +971 55 986 3697 with the required models, quantities and room type for a same-day stock and project quotation. Larger SkySound orders can also be prepared for FOB Dubai export to Africa, GCC and South Asia.
