The boardroom is 11 metres long. One camera faces the table, a second covers the presenter, two ceiling microphones sit above the seats, and the speakers need their own audio path. Then facilities closes the movable partition and tomorrow the same space has to operate as two rooms. That’s where a normal USB meeting-room setup starts becoming difficult.
The Yealink AVHub is made for this layer of the installation. It sits behind the room rather than on the table, bringing multiple cameras, microphones and speakers into one audio-video processor. Compatible Yealink devices can connect over network cable with PoE, so you aren’t trying to pull nine USB cables through a ceiling or hide adaptors behind a display. In a DIFC executive boardroom, a DMCC training suite or a hotel conference space with movable walls, that changes how the room can be designed.

What AVHub Actually Does in a Meeting Room
AVHub isn’t a camera, speaker or conferencing PC. Think of it as the room’s connection and processing point. Cameras feed into it. Room microphones feed into it. Speakers feed into it. The meeting-room computer then works with the room as a coordinated AV system instead of dealing with a pile of separately attached peripherals.
Yealink specifies support for up to 9 UVC84 or UVC86 cameras, up to 8 VCM34 or VCM38 microphone arrays and up to 4 MSpeaker II units. That’s far beyond what you’d normally need around a six-seat table. The AVHub belongs in the Yealink video conferencing range when room scale, camera angles or audio coverage have moved past the all-in-one-bar stage.
That distinction matters during design. Buying AVHub doesn’t by itself give you a complete Microsoft Teams Room. You still select the cameras, microphones, speakers, room PC, control panel and display arrangement for the space. AVHub gives those components a common processing and connection layer.
Multi-Camera Rooms — One Wide Shot Isn’t Enough
Picture a 20-seat executive table. One PTZ camera at the display can capture the room, but the person speaking from seat 18 is still a small face at the far end of the image. Add a second camera for the rear seats, another for the presenter and another for an audience or whiteboard area. Now the meeting needs a way to handle those camera feeds without turning the rack into a manual video-switching job.
Up to 9 Compatible Cameras
The verified AVHub specification supports as many as 9 Yealink UVC84 or UVC86 cameras. A room doesn’t need nine cameras just because nine are supported. Two or three carefully placed cameras often solve a long-boardroom problem better than adding cameras everywhere. The extra capacity is useful for auditoriums, training spaces and rooms with several presentation zones.
Multi-Camera Layouts
Camera layouts can be arranged for the meeting instead of forcing remote attendees to watch one permanently wide image. Different camera positions can cover the boardroom table, lectern, front presentation area or audience. This is particularly useful in Dubai training rooms where the presenter moves between a display and seated delegates.
Multi-Camera IntelliFocus
AVHub’s current feature set includes Multi-camera IntelliFocus. The point isn’t simply switching from Camera A to Camera B. In a correctly designed room, multiple camera positions give the system better views of people speaking from different parts of a large space. That’s useful when a single camera at the front would otherwise spend the meeting digitally enlarging distant faces.
SkySound Ceiling Audio — Where AVHub Gets More Interesting
Table microphones aren’t always practical. A legal boardroom may have a polished table where nobody wants cables. A training room gets rearranged every week. Another Dubai office has HVAC noise directly above the table and glass partitions on two sides. In those spaces we usually start looking upward — ceiling microphones and ceiling speakers.
AVHub works with the newer Yealink CM20 ceiling microphone and CS10 ceiling speaker as part of the Yealink room audio and microphone range. It also supports VCM35, VCM38 and VCM36 microphone options with compatible Yealink speakers. That lets the audio design follow the room rather than forcing every project into the same tabletop layout.
For a direct SkySound connection, one AVHub supports a practical combination of 2 CM20 microphones and 2 CS10 speakers. The number isn’t arbitrary. A CM20 has a rated power requirement of 9W, while each CS10 has a rated requirement of 24W. AVHub has an 80W PSE power budget, so power planning matters once several ceiling speakers are connected.
Seven ports doesn’t mean seven unrestricted powered speakers
AVHub has 7 VCH RJ45 ports, but the processor’s total PSE budget is 80W. Yealink’s direct SkySound guidance uses 2 CS10 speakers with 2 CM20 microphones and advises against loading more than 3 CS10 speakers directly because each CS10 requires 24W rated power. Count the watts, not just the sockets.
For larger SkySound layouts, supported switch expansion can take the AVHub architecture to as many as 4 microphones plus 4 speakers. That’s the point where room design, network topology and power calculation should be done before hardware is ordered. Ceiling audio isn’t something we recommend choosing from a parts list alone.
Divisible Rooms — One Space at 9AM, Two Rooms at 2PM
Movable partitions create an AV problem that looks simple on an architectural drawing. Open the wall and the cameras, microphones and speakers need to serve one large meeting. Close it and nobody in Room A wants their call picking up voices, cameras or presentation content from Room B.
Divisible-room support is part of the current AVHub feature set. That’s why AVHub makes sense in hotel conference facilities, training centres and corporate multipurpose rooms rather than only fixed executive boardrooms. The exact device count and control logic depend on the room design, so we map camera positions, microphone zones, speaker coverage and partition states before specifying the system. Particularly important with glass or sliding partitions, which are common around JLT and Business Bay offices.

AVHub can sit inside a Microsoft Teams Rooms installation and Yealink specifically provides camera-layout control for MTR use. It should still be treated as a system component, not as a standalone Teams endpoint. The room platform depends on the computer, room kit and control hardware connected around it.
BYOD support also gives the room another route when a visitor arrives with a laptop and needs to use a different meeting application. For sites where an existing installed DSP must stay, AVHub’s third-party DSP support and analogue audio connections give the AV engineer more options than ripping out working room audio just to add Yealink cameras.

You probably don’t need AVHub for a normal six-seat room
If the room only needs one camera and one microphone system, adding AVHub creates hardware you aren’t using. AVHub starts making sense when the room needs several cameras, distributed microphones or speakers, ceiling audio, a divisible-room design, or an existing DSP that must remain in the system. For a standard small or medium meeting room, an all-in-one MeetingBar or a simpler MVC configuration is usually the cleaner design.
For Yealink AVHub UAE projects, we size the processor around the actual room rather than the maximum device count printed on the datasheet. Camera positions, table length, ceiling height, HVAC location, glass partitions, speaker zones and the position of any movable wall all affect the parts list. The same applies to Abu Dhabi boardrooms and multi-room rollouts elsewhere in the UAE.
BYOD — When the Room Has to Work With a Visitor’s Laptop
Large meeting rooms rarely live on one meeting platform every day. Your internal calls may run on Microsoft Teams, then a consultant arrives with Zoom, Webex or Google Meet on a laptop. AVHub includes BYOD capability so the room’s installed camera and audio system can be used without rebuilding the room around the visitor’s application.
That’s useful in shared executive rooms in DIFC and DMCC where external lawyers, auditors and regional teams bring their own notebooks. The laptop runs the meeting application; the installed Yealink room hardware handles the camera and audio side. The exact BYOD connection path depends on the room kit around AVHub, so we confirm the room PC, controller and sharing hardware before quoting the complete system.
For rooms where wireless presentation is part of the brief, we can also build the system around Yealink wireless presentation and BYOD hardware. That keeps a guest presentation from becoming the usual hunt for an HDMI adaptor five minutes after the meeting was meant to start.
Does AVHub Connect to Etisalat, du or an Office PABX?
Not directly. AVHub is an audio-video processor, not a SIP telephone endpoint. You don’t register an AVHub extension on 3CX, Grandstream UCM, Yeastar, Avaya or an Etisalat or du SIP service.
If the Microsoft Teams Room, room PC or conferencing platform needs PSTN connectivity, that calling path is handled at platform or PABX level. AVHub stays on the room AV side — cameras, microphones, speakers and audio processing. Keeping those roles separate avoids a common design mistake where an AV processor is expected to behave like a conference phone.
Where an existing boardroom already uses a professional DSP, Yealink supports third-party DSP integration through AVHub. That can be far more useful than SIP registration. A fitted audio system may stay in place while the room moves to Yealink cameras and a newer meeting-room platform.
Existing DSP in the Rack? You May Not Need to Throw It Away
This comes up often in older Dubai boardrooms. The room already has ceiling speakers, amplifiers and a DSP installed above the ceiling or in an equipment rack. Video is the part that needs replacing. Removing the existing audio just because the camera system changes can add days to an otherwise straightforward project.
AVHub supports third-party DSP integration and provides analogue audio connections including RCA audio I/O plus separate 6.3 mm line input and line output. We check the existing DSP model and signal path before promising reuse, but the architecture gives an AV engineer a proper integration route rather than forcing every room into an all-Yealink audio build.
Central Management for Multi-Room UAE Deployments
One AVHub in one boardroom is easy to keep an eye on. Ten meeting rooms across Dubai and Abu Dhabi are different. IT doesn’t want to send an engineer across Sheikh Zayed Road because somebody reports that a meeting-room device has disappeared from the system.
Yealink room estates can be managed through Yealink Management Cloud Service, or YMCS. The platform gives IT teams centralized device visibility, status monitoring, configuration, diagnostics and alarm handling. Device tasks can also be scheduled outside normal working hours, which is useful for an office where conference rooms are occupied from 8AM until late afternoon.
Real-Time Room Visibility
IT can view Yealink room equipment and operating status centrally instead of checking every boardroom in person. Useful when the UAE estate includes a Dubai headquarters plus meeting rooms in Abu Dhabi or Sharjah.
Alarms and Remote Diagnostics
YMCS supports alarm rules, notifications and device diagnostics. That gives the IT team something more useful than waiting for a user to report, “the boardroom isn’t working.”

Administrative work can be scheduled outside meeting hours. For a multi-room rollout, standardized configuration and centralized monitoring reduce the number of routine site visits needed after handover.

A Typical Dubai AVHub Installation
Take a 16-seat boardroom with a 98-inch front display, glass along one wall and a presentation position beside the screen. A single front camera gives a usable room view, but senior management wants clear views from both ends of the table. The room also has strong HVAC airflow above the centre seats, so putting one tabletop microphone in the middle isn’t the answer.
One design could use AVHub with two UVC86 cameras positioned for separate room angles and CM20 ceiling microphones above the seating area. CS10 ceiling speakers keep table space clear. Camera positions are selected around sightlines rather than simply mounting everything above the main screen. The glass wall and air-conditioning noise are checked during commissioning because both affect the result remote participants actually hear and see.
A training facility is different again. Presenter camera at the front. Audience camera at the rear. Ceiling audio across the room. Movable partition down the middle. That is where AVHub’s multi-camera and divisible-room design makes considerably more sense than buying two unrelated USB systems and hoping they behave like one when the partition opens.

Room survey — Confirm room dimensions, table position, ceiling height, partitions, displays, existing DSP, rack location, network path and camera sightlines.
AV design — Select the actual camera count, microphone zones, speaker layout, expansion switching and room-control path. PoE load is checked before the parts list is signed off.
Installation and test — Devices are fitted, connected and configured, followed by live camera and audio testing from the actual seating positions. A divisible room is tested in both open and separated states.

Training centres are a natural fit because the camera requirement changes during the session. Universities, government briefing rooms, hotel conference areas and large consulting rooms can use the same architecture for different reasons. What they have in common is scale. More than one useful camera angle. Audio that can’t depend on a single tabletop microphone. Sometimes an existing DSP worth keeping. Sometimes a wall that opens and closes. AVHub is relevant when those details start appearing on the room drawing.

Do I need AVHub for a normal 6-to-8-person meeting room?
Usually not. If the room needs one camera and straightforward microphone coverage, AVHub adds processing capacity you probably won’t use. It starts making sense in large rooms with several cameras, distributed or ceiling audio, a third-party DSP, or a movable partition. Send us the room dimensions before ordering and we’ll tell you if the simpler system is the better fit.
Can AVHub really run 9 cameras in one conference room?
Yealink specifies support for up to 9 compatible UVC84 or UVC86 cameras. That is a maximum system capacity, not a recommendation to put nine cameras in every room. A 16-to-20-seat boardroom may only need two or three properly positioned cameras. Larger training rooms, presentation spaces and multi-zone rooms are where the higher camera capacity becomes useful.
Can we use CM20 ceiling microphones and CS10 speakers with AVHub?
Yes. AVHub supports the Yealink CM20 ceiling microphone with CS10 or MSpeaker II speakers. A direct AVHub SkySound layout supports 2 CM20 microphones plus 2 CS10 speakers. Larger supported network designs can expand to 4 microphones plus 4 speakers. The AVHub PSE budget is 80W, so the speaker load must be calculated rather than judged by the number of free Ethernet ports.
Will AVHub connect to our Etisalat or du SIP line and office PABX?
AVHub itself doesn’t register as a SIP phone or PABX extension. It is the room’s audio-video processor. PSTN or SIP calling is handled by the Microsoft Teams Room, conferencing platform or separate PABX architecture around the room. AVHub can, however, integrate with a third-party audio DSP where an existing installed audio system needs to remain.
Can AVHub handle a room with a movable partition?
Yes. Divisible-room support is one of AVHub’s current capabilities. The room still needs to be engineered for both states: partition open and partition closed. We map camera positions, microphone zones, speaker coverage and the control path before installation, then test calls with the room configured both ways.
