Description
Yealink W74H Professional DECT Handset Dubai
Your receptionist answers a call, walks 20 metres to check whether someone is in the meeting room, and the call drops because the desk phone obviously can’t follow. Same problem in clinics, warehouses and hotel back offices. Staff move. The phone doesn’t.
The Yealink W74H fixes that part of the setup. It’s a cordless business DECT handset built to work with Yealink DECT base systems, giving staff a phone they can carry between rooms instead of tying every extension to one desk. For a Dubai office spread across glass-partition rooms, a clinic with treatment areas, or a warehouse where supervisors move between aisles, that difference matters every hour of the day.

W74H or W74P? Don’t Order the Wrong One
This is the part that causes most ordering mistakes. The W74H is the handset only. It does not include a DECT base station. If your office already has a compatible Yealink DECT system, adding another W74H may be exactly what you need.
Starting from zero? The W74P is the more relevant bundle because it combines a W74H handset with a W70B DECT base. That base connects to your network and SIP/PABX system, while the handset connects wirelessly over DECT.
Simple buying rule
Already have a compatible Yealink DECT base? Order the W74H handset. Building a new DECT installation? Look at the W74P or a larger multi-cell system. We check the existing base model before adding handsets so you don’t end up with phones that can’t register.
You can see the wider Yealink DECT phone range when planning a new cordless deployment rather than replacing one handset.
Built for Staff Who Don’t Stay at One Desk
A W74H makes the most sense where a fixed IP phone creates friction. Reception desks where staff walk to meeting rooms. Clinics where nurses move between treatment areas. Warehouses where supervisors spend more time on the floor than in the office. Hotel engineering and housekeeping teams. Retail back offices. Small service centres.
The handset weighs about 117 g and measures 144.5 × 48 × 21 mm, so it stays closer to a mobile phone than a traditional cordless office handset in the hand. There’s a belt clip in the box as well. Useful when someone is moving stock, carrying files or working with both hands.
In Dubai, the coverage question matters more than the brochure number. A straight corridor with lightweight partitions behaves very differently from a DIFC office with reinforced walls, lift cores and heavy glass. Warehouses bring another problem: steel racking. That’s why DECT base placement is part of the installation rather than an afterthought.
Battery That Covers a Full Working Day
Yealink rates the W74H for up to 24 hours of talk time and 320 hours of standby under ideal conditions. For a normal office shift, that gives plenty of margin even when the handset spends much of the day off its charger.
Forgot to charge it overnight? A short top-up helps. Yealink states that around 10 minutes of charging can provide up to 2 hours of talk time. Put it on the cradle while somebody is at lunch and it’s ready for another block of calls.
For shift-based sites
Hotels, clinics and warehouses often run longer than a standard 8-hour office day. The W74H’s rated battery figures make it suitable for long shifts, but actual runtime still depends on call volume, Bluetooth use, display activity and battery age.
Bluetooth 5.1, 3.5 mm Headsets and Hands-Free Calling
Bluetooth 5.1 is built into the handset, so staff can pair a compatible wireless headset instead of holding the phone through long calls. There is also a 3.5 mm headset jack for wired headsets. That gives procurement teams a choice rather than forcing one accessory type.
The W74H also includes a full-duplex speakerphone for quick hands-free conversations. Reception staff can place the handset on the desk while checking a booking. A warehouse supervisor can set it down while looking up a delivery record. Small thing. Used constantly.
For users who spend most of the day on calls rather than walking with a handset, the Yealink headset range may be a better fit alongside desk phones or softphones.
Audio Controls for Noisy Offices
Dubai offices aren’t quiet. Ceiling HVAC runs hard for much of the year. Warehouse fans, printers, front-desk conversations and movement through glass-partition corridors all find their way into calls.
The W74H includes Yealink’s noise-reduction functions, HD voice and full-duplex audio. Receiver volume can be adjusted across 5 levels, and the ringer also has 5 volume settings plus an off mode. There are 9 ringer melodies, while vibration alert gives another notification method where audible ringing isn’t ideal.
For a quiet management office, the settings stay low. For a loading area or reception desk next to a busy entrance, vibration and a stronger ringer setting make more sense. Same handset. Different working environment.

Single Office, Multi-Floor Site or Warehouse?
The handset doesn’t decide your coverage. The DECT base design does. A small office may only need one W70B. A larger site with multiple corridors, floors or roaming users may need a Yealink multi-cell system so calls can continue while staff move between coverage zones.
| Site Type | Typical Approach | W74H Fit |
|---|---|---|
| Small Office | Single-cell DECT base | Good for mobile reception and admin staff |
| Clinic / Hotel Floor | Coverage survey before final base placement | Useful where staff move between rooms |
| Warehouse | Check steel racks and dead zones before deployment | Useful for supervisors and operations staff |
| Multi-Floor / Large Site | Multi-cell DECT design may be required | Handsets roam as part of the wider DECT system |
Don’t buy by the 50-metre number alone
A 50 m indoor rating is measured under ideal conditions. A Dubai warehouse with steel shelving or an office with reinforced concrete can reduce usable coverage significantly. For multi-floor sites or areas with known dead spots, base placement and multi-cell design should be checked before ordering handsets in quantity.
Platform and Business Phone Compatibility
Asterisk ✓
BroadSoft ✓
Metaswitch ✓
SIP PBX via DECT Base ✓
The W74H itself is the cordless handset. SIP registration and network connectivity sit at the Yealink DECT base or multi-cell system. That distinction matters when you’re connecting it to an existing office PABX.
For businesses using fixed desk extensions as well as cordless users, the W74H can sit alongside the wider Yealink IP phone range. Reception may use a desk phone with expansion keys while supervisors carry W74H handsets. Same phone environment. Different jobs.
Phonebooks, Extensions and Day-to-Day Call Handling
A cordless handset still needs to behave like an office extension, not a mobile phone sitting beside the PABX. The W74H supports the everyday functions staff actually use: hold, transfer, call waiting, call forward, Do Not Disturb and 3-way conferencing. Each handset can handle up to 2 simultaneous calls, which matters at reception desks and service counters where a second call often arrives while the first one is still active.
Directory access is handled through the DECT system. With a compatible Yealink base, the setup can use local contacts plus remote phonebooks, LDAP and XML directories. That means a company doesn’t have to type 80 internal extensions into every handset one by one. The directory can sit centrally and appear across the phones.
For a DMCC office with 30 staff, a clinic with several departments or a hospitality site where extensions change regularly, central directory handling saves a lot of small admin work. Change the directory once. Staff see the updated entry from the handset.
How the W74H Connects to Your Existing Phone System
The W74H doesn’t connect directly to an Etisalat, e& or du line by itself. It connects over DECT to a compatible Yealink base station. That base then registers SIP extensions to your office PABX or hosted voice platform.
So if your company already runs 3CX, Asterisk, BroadSoft, Metaswitch or another SIP-based business phone environment, the important check is the base station and account configuration. The handset becomes the wireless extension carried by the user.
For e& or du business voice services, we configure the SIP/PABX side according to the service already installed at the premises. A W74H isn’t a replacement for the carrier connection. It’s the cordless endpoint that sits on top of the office phone system. That distinction avoids a common buying mistake when someone orders only a handset expecting it to plug into the internet and start calling.
W70B Single Cell or W75/W80/W90 Multi-Cell?
For a normal single-floor office, a W70B base can be enough. The W74P bundle uses this approach: one W74H handset paired with one W70B, with room to add more compatible handsets later. The W70B platform supports up to 10 handsets, 10 SIP accounts and up to 20 simultaneous calls across the system.
The design changes when people need to walk across large areas during calls. A warehouse, hotel, school building or multi-floor clinic may need multi-cell DECT so users can roam between coverage zones without manually changing base stations. That’s where Yealink W75, W80 or W90 deployments come into the conversation.
One handset can sit in very different DECT designs
A W74H used by a receptionist in a 150 m² office and a W74H carried around a multi-floor property may look identical. The base-system design underneath them is completely different. For larger sites, we check floor plans, wall construction, lift cores and roaming routes before fixing base locations.
What’s in the W74H Box?
Included: Yealink W74H handset, rechargeable battery, charger cradle, power adapter, belt clip and documentation.
That is enough when you’re adding a handset to a compatible DECT installation that is already running. For a new site, it isn’t enough by itself.
Not included — order separately if needed
DECT base station, network switch, SIP/PABX service, wired or Bluetooth headset, repeaters and additional handsets are not part of the W74H handset package. If this is a new phone system, ask for the W74P bundle or a DECT system design rather than ordering the handset alone.
Installation and Configuration in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
Adding one handset to an existing system is usually straightforward. We confirm the base model, register the W74H, assign the SIP extension, load the correct directory access and make test calls. For a new deployment, the work starts with the DECT base location because a badly placed base creates coverage complaints no handset setting can fix.
Check the DECT system — Existing base model, current handset count, SIP extensions and expected roaming area are confirmed before registration.
Register and configure — The handset is paired with the compatible base and mapped to the required extension, user name and directory settings.
Walk-test the area — On larger sites, calls are checked along the actual routes staff use rather than standing beside the base and assuming the whole floor is covered.
Yealink W74H UAE supply and configuration is available across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. For warehouses, clinics, hotels and multi-floor offices, send the floor plan or approximate dimensions before ordering quantity.

Where the W74H Makes Sense
Clinics: A nurse or administrator can carry the extension between reception, consultation rooms and back-office areas rather than asking callers to ring several fixed phones. Vibration alert is useful where audible ringing needs to stay controlled.
Warehouses: Supervisors can remain reachable while checking goods, dispatch areas or loading bays. Steel racking can affect DECT coverage, so this is a case where the 50 m indoor figure should never be treated as a guaranteed site radius.
Hotels and serviced offices: Engineering, housekeeping, front-desk and operations teams can each carry extensions while moving between work areas. Multi-cell DECT may be needed where staff cross floors during active calls.
Dubai offices: In JLT, Business Bay and DIFC, the usual problem is less about huge floor area and more about walls, glass meeting rooms and lift cores breaking up the radio path. Proper base placement normally matters more than buying extra handsets.

Yealink W74H Export from Dubai
We supply W74H handsets and Yealink DECT equipment to telecom resellers, PABX installers and IT distributors buying for projects in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Mozambique and Angola. Project quantities can be consolidated with DECT bases, repeaters and compatible desk phones before shipment.
FOB Dubai pricing is available for reseller and project orders. Send the required handset quantity, base-station requirement and destination country so the quote reflects the actual system rather than only the handset count.
For multi-site projects, units can be grouped by branch quantity so installers don’t have to split mixed cartons at destination. That helps when a rollout includes several small offices with different extension counts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the W74H include the Yealink DECT base?
No. The W74H is the handset package and does not include a DECT base station. If you’re starting a new single-cell installation, the W74P bundle combines the W74H handset with a W70B base. For an existing installation, send us the base model and we’ll check compatibility before you order another handset.
Will one W74H cover our whole office?
Coverage comes from the DECT base, not from the handset alone. Yealink states up to 50 metres indoors and 300 metres outdoors under ideal conditions. Concrete walls, lift shafts, steel shelving and the actual base position can reduce that distance. For larger sites we check the intended roaming area before confirming the DECT design.
Can I use a Bluetooth headset with the W74H?
Yes. Bluetooth 5.1 is built into the W74H. It also has a 3.5 mm headset jack if you prefer a wired headset. Compatibility can vary by headset model, so for larger deployments it’s sensible to test the chosen headset and handset combination before buying quantity.
Will the W74H work with our e&, Etisalat or du office phone service?
The handset works through a compatible Yealink DECT base connected to your SIP/PABX environment. It doesn’t register directly to a carrier line by itself. We can configure the DECT base and SIP extensions around the e& or du business voice setup already used at your office.
Can you add W74H handsets to our existing Yealink system in Abu Dhabi?
Yes, where the installed DECT base supports the W74H. Send the current base model and number of handsets first. We supply and configure Yealink W74H units in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and all 7 UAE emirates.
Is the Yealink W74H in stock in Dubai?
Dubai stock is available for W74H orders, subject to quantity at the time of confirmation. Same-day quotes are available on WhatsApp. For projects requiring multiple handsets, W70B bases, repeaters or multi-cell equipment, send the quantity and site type so the complete parts list can be checked before dispatch.
