Description
Yealink W71P DECT IP Phone System Dubai
The reception phone rings while the receptionist is at the printer. A warehouse supervisor walks 30 metres from the desk and misses a supplier call. In a clinic, the handset needs to move between the front counter and two treatment rooms without somebody carrying a desk phone around. Fixed phones aren’t the problem here. Mobility is.
The Yealink W71P gives a Dubai office one W70B DECT base station and one W71H cordless handset in the same package. The base connects to your network and SIP phone system; the handset moves with the user. Start with one handset, then register additional compatible handsets as the team grows. One W70B supports up to 10 handsets, 10 SIP accounts and 20 simultaneous calls across the DECT system. For reception desks, small warehouses, clinics, workshops and hospitality back offices, that’s usually a much cleaner setup than putting an IP phone at every point where somebody might need to answer.

What Exactly Comes With the W71P?
This distinction matters when ordering. The W71P is the system bundle: one W70B DECT IP base station plus one W71H handset. The W71H by itself is only a handset. It needs a compatible Yealink DECT base before it can register to a SIP account or make business calls.
That makes the W71P the sensible starting point for a new installation. A small JLT office might begin with one W71P at reception and then add handsets for the store room, accounts team or manager. You don’t need another base for every person. Additional compatible handsets register back to the same W70B, subject to the base’s 10-handset capacity. You can browse the wider Yealink DECT phone range when planning a larger deployment.
30 Hours of Talk Time — and the Useful Number Is 10 Minutes
The W71H uses a 1,010 mAh lithium-ion battery rated for up to 30 hours of talk time and up to 340 hours on standby. Those headline numbers are useful, but the fast-charge figure is more practical in a working office: about 10 minutes in the charger can provide roughly 2 hours of talk time.
Useful for shared handsets
Think of a warehouse handset that changes hands between shifts, or a clinic handset that spends most of the day away from the charging cradle. A short charge during lunch or a staff handover can put meaningful calling time back into the battery instead of taking the phone out of service for hours.
The handset also includes a 3.5 mm headset port and full-duplex speakerphone. So a user isn’t forced to hold the phone against their ear throughout a long supplier call. Small detail. Much more noticeable after you’ve used the handset for an entire working day.
DECT Coverage in a Real Dubai Building
Yealink rates DECT range at up to 50 metres indoors and up to 300 metres outdoors under ideal conditions. Don’t read the 50-metre number as a promise that the handset will cross every floor plan. RF behaves differently once you put concrete lift cores, fire doors, server rooms, metal shelving and reinforced walls between the handset and base.
Glass-partition offices in DMCC or DIFC are usually easier than a warehouse with tall steel racking, but even glass offices can have foil-backed walls and dense service cores in exactly the wrong place. Base position matters. Putting the W70B inside a closed network cabinet because that’s where the switch happens to be can waste a large part of the usable coverage.
PoE makes better base placement easier
The W70B has a 10/100 Ethernet port and supports IEEE 802.3af Class 1 PoE. With a PoE network switch, the base can take network and power over the Ethernet connection. That gives the installer more freedom to place the base where DECT coverage works properly rather than beside the nearest electrical socket.
For a larger single-cell site, repeater support can extend the usable DECT area. If the requirement is continuous roaming across multiple floors, separate buildings or a much larger warehouse, don’t keep adding hardware around a single base without checking the design first. That’s where a Yealink multi-cell DECT platform becomes the better architecture.
The Upgrade Path Buyers Often Miss
The W71H isn’t tied permanently to the W70B. Yealink also lists it for use with W75B, W80B and W90B DECT systems. That matters if you’re buying for a growing UAE business.
A company can start with the W71P in a single office, prove that cordless SIP works for the team, and later move compatible W71H handsets onto a larger multi-cell deployment instead of throwing the handsets away. For a business opening a second floor or adding warehouse space in six months, that migration path is worth considering at the first purchase.
Call Capacity — 20 Calls Doesn’t Mean 20 on One Handset
The W70B platform supports up to 20 simultaneous calls across the system. Each W71H handset can handle up to 2 simultaneous calls. Those are different numbers, and mixing them up produces bad system sizing.
For example, five handsets can be active around a business while multiple calls are being handled across the base. A receptionist can answer one call and manage another call state on the same handset, while other registered users continue making or receiving their own calls. The capacity sits at base-system level; it isn’t a claim that one person can juggle 20 conversations.
The W70B also supports 10 SIP accounts. That lets a deployment map different extensions or service lines onto the DECT system depending on the PABX design. We handle the SIP registration and extension mapping during installation rather than handing over a box and leaving the IT team to work out the call routing.
W71H Handset — Simple Screen, Business Call Features
The W71H uses a 1.8-inch, 90 × 65 monochrome display. No touchscreen. No oversized colour panel. That’s deliberate: this is a light business handset built around calls rather than apps.
Audio features include HD voice, full-duplex hands-free speakerphone and Yealink noise-reduction processing. Hearing Aid Compatibility is also supported. For a front desk next to a noisy entrance or an office where the HVAC seems to run at aircraft volume from May to October, intelligible speech matters more than a colourful screen.
The platform can hold up to 1,000 contacts in its base-side local directory and can also work with supported remote directory methods. That becomes useful when the handset is shared. The employee doesn’t need to remember the extension for accounts, the loading bay or the Abu Dhabi branch every time a call needs transferring.

What Phone Systems Can the W71P Connect To?
The W71P is a SIP DECT system rather than a proprietary cordless telephone tied to one PBX brand. The W70B registers SIP accounts supplied by the phone system or hosted voice service. That makes it suitable for business VoIP deployments where cordless users need to operate alongside normal Yealink IP desk phones.

PoE Base ✓
Auto Provisioning ✓
Exact service-provider registration depends on the SIP credentials and network configuration supplied for the site. For an Etisalat/e& or du business deployment, we check the existing PBX or hosted-voice arrangement before assigning extensions to the DECT base rather than assuming the W71P replaces the carrier service itself.
Is One W71P Enough for Your Site?
| Site Requirement | Fit | What to Consider |
|---|---|---|
| Small office / reception | Good fit | Start with W71P and add handsets as needed |
| Clinic / retail / workshop | Good fit | Survey walls and base position before relying on maximum range |
| Single-floor warehouse | Depends on layout | Steel racking and enclosed rooms can reduce DECT coverage |
| Multiple floors / large campus | Usually not the right architecture | Plan a Yealink multi-cell DECT system instead |
Don’t buy from the 50-metre figure alone
If users must roam across several floors, through concrete fire cores, between separate warehouse zones or over a site larger than one DECT cell can cover reliably, the W71P isn’t the right design just because repeaters exist. Start with a coverage plan and move to a multi-cell DECT system where continuous roaming requires it. For Yealink W71P UAE installations in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, we can check the floor layout before deciding how many bases or handsets the site actually needs.
SIP, PABX and Hosted Voice Use in UAE Offices
The W71P is built around SIP accounts. The W70B base connects to the office network, registers the required extensions, then presents those lines to the cordless handsets assigned to the base. That makes it useful where staff need mobility but the company still wants calls controlled by the same business phone system used at fixed desks.
A common setup in Dubai is a reception extension on one W71H, a warehouse or back-office extension on another, and perhaps a manager’s extension on a third handset. All three handsets can sit on the same W70B instead of installing three separate base stations. Call permissions, external dialling rules and extension behaviour remain dependent on the connected SIP/PABX platform.
For Etisalat/e& or du business environments, the important question is how the existing voice service reaches your PBX or hosted platform. The W71P doesn’t replace the carrier service. During installation we check the SIP account structure, register the required extensions and test inbound, outbound, hold and transfer behaviour before handover. If your office is also replacing fixed phones, the Yealink IP phone range can sit on the same business telephony deployment.
Provisioning More Than One W71P
One base is easy to configure manually. Ten branches are different. The W70B supports browser-based configuration and Yealink provisioning methods including RPS and automated provisioning over supported network protocols. That lets an IT team prepare settings centrally rather than building every unit from zero at the branch.
Useful for branch rollouts
If five retail branches each need one base and three cordless extensions, the configuration can be standardised before deployment. Extension numbers and site-specific credentials still change, but the device policy doesn’t need to be rebuilt five times at five counters.
The platform also supports encrypted management and voice security options including TLS 1.3, HTTPS and SRTP. Exact security settings depend on what the connected SIP service supports, so both sides need to be configured correctly. Turning on an option at the handset end doesn’t make an incompatible PBX support it.
What’s in the W71P Box?
W70B DECT IP base station — the network side of the system. It registers the SIP accounts and provides DECT radio coverage to registered handsets.
W71H cordless handset — one handset is supplied with the W71P starter package. More compatible handsets can be registered separately where additional users need mobility.
Charging equipment and installation accessories — supplied as part of the standard W71P package configuration for the handset and base.
Not included — order separately if needed
Additional W71H handsets, DECT repeaters, wired or wireless headsets, PoE network switch, PBX licences, SIP service and structured cabling are separate where required. Tell us how many users and how large the site is before ordering; that avoids buying extra bases when additional handsets would do the job.

Related Yealink Products to Quote With the W71P
The W71P is normally one part of the phone system rather than the entire project. These are the products and categories we commonly review around it:
1. Yealink W71H additional handset — add another cordless user to a compatible DECT deployment without automatically buying another W70B.
2. Yealink W74P — another current W7-series DECT option when the handset requirement or user profile calls for a different model.
3. Yealink W77P — worth comparing when planning another W7-series cordless deployment.
4. Yealink W57R rugged handset — the type of handset to consider where drops, workshops or tougher working conditions matter more than minimum handset cost.
5. Yealink W75 Mini MC — consider a multi-cell design when staff need movement over a larger footprint than one base can cover comfortably.
6. Yealink desk IP phones — mix fixed phones for accounts and management with cordless handsets for reception, logistics and mobile staff.
7. Yealink business headsets — useful where staff spend longer periods on calls and don’t want to hold the W71H handset throughout the conversation.
Where the W71P Makes Sense in Dubai
Clinics: reception can answer the main number while moving between the front desk, records area and nearby consultation rooms. The handset stays with the person instead of the call being abandoned because nobody is sitting beside the desk phone.
Warehouses and trading companies: staff can take supplier and delivery calls while checking stock away from the administration desk. RF planning matters here. Metal shelving, shutters and concrete partitions can change the useful coverage dramatically, so the base should be placed for radio coverage, not simply wherever an empty switch port happens to exist.
Small hotels and serviced offices: a front-desk employee can move between reception, a back office and nearby guest areas while keeping the business extension with them. For several floors, though, we’d design the DECT coverage first instead of expecting one W70B to penetrate every slab.
The same applies to offices in Business Bay, JLT, DMCC and DIFC. Glass partitions may look harmless, but lift cores, utility rooms and reinforced fire walls behind them can be the real DECT blockers. A short coverage check before installation is cheaper than putting a repeater in the wrong corridor later.
Yealink W71P Supply in Abu Dhabi and Across the UAE
Yealink W71P UAE supply and installation is available in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Installation includes the DECT base connection and SIP/PABX configuration required for the agreed deployment. For Abu Dhabi offices, clinics and warehouses, send the number of cordless users, approximate floor size and existing phone-system details before ordering. Those three pieces of information usually tell us whether one W71P is enough or whether the site needs a different DECT layout.
W71P Export From Dubai — Africa and MEA Projects
We supply Yealink DECT equipment from Dubai for telecom resellers, PABX installers and IT distributors handling projects in Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Mozambique, Ghana and Angola. The W71P works well as an entry cordless SIP package where the customer needs one base initially and wants the option to add handsets later.
Project quantities can be consolidated with Yealink desk phones, headsets and DECT accessories in the same shipment. That reduces the number of separate purchase orders for branch or hospitality rollouts.
FOB Dubai quotations are available for reseller and project quantities. Send the destination country, required quantity and whether you need W71P starter bundles or additional W71H handsets.
For larger sites, include the building layout or expected coverage area with the enquiry. That gives us enough information to flag projects that should move from a single-cell W70B design to a multi-cell DECT system before the equipment ships.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the W71P include the base station, or am I buying only a handset?
The W71P is the starter package: one W70B DECT IP base plus one W71H cordless handset. If you already have a compatible base and only need another handset, order the W71H separately rather than another complete W71P bundle.
Will one W71P cover our whole Dubai office?
Yealink rates the system for up to 50 metres indoors under ideal conditions. Concrete cores, fire doors, metal shelving and enclosed server rooms can cut that distance. A normal small office may be fine on one W70B; a warehouse or multi-floor office should be checked before relying on the maximum range figure.
Can we add more cordless phones later?
Yes. One W70B supports up to 10 compatible handsets. The W71H can also be used with larger Yealink DECT platforms including W75B, W80B and W90B, so a growing business has a path from a small single-cell setup to a larger DECT design without automatically replacing every handset.
Will the W71P work with our Etisalat/e& or du office line?
The W71P registers SIP accounts through the W70B base. Whether it connects into your Etisalat/e& or du business setup depends on how those services are delivered through your existing PBX or hosted voice platform. We check the SIP arrangement and configure the required extensions during installation rather than assuming the carrier line connects directly to the handset.
How many calls can the W71P handle at the same time?
The W70B supports up to 20 simultaneous calls across the DECT system, while an individual W71H handset supports up to 2 simultaneous calls. The 20-call figure is system capacity, not 20 calls on one handset.
Is the Yealink W71P in stock in Dubai, and do you install it?
Yes. Yealink W71P stock is available in Dubai with same-day quotations on WhatsApp. Supply and installation cover Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and all 7 UAE emirates. Installation includes the agreed SIP/PABX configuration, so the system is tested as a working business extension rather than delivered as an unconfigured box.
