Description
Yealink UH42 USB Wired Headset Teams & UC Dubai
Eight desks in one row. The air-conditioning is running above them, two people are discussing a customer issue behind the glass partition, and somebody three seats away is already on another call. That is a normal working afternoon in plenty of Dubai offices. The headset has one job: send your voice to the other side without making the caller listen to the whole floor.
The Yealink UH42 is made for that desk. It is a wired USB business headset with a single noise-cancelling microphone, Yealink Acoustic Shield 3.0 voice isolation, 35 mm speakers and an inline controller for calls, volume and microphone mute. No battery to charge before an 8-hour shift. No wireless pairing to troubleshoot when the next user sits down. Connect it to USB-C, or use the supplied USB-A adapter when the workstation still has the older port.
For Yealink UH42 UAE deployments, the useful part is the choice. There is a 116 g Mono version for staff who need to keep one ear open to the room, and a 160 g Dual version for desks where concentration matters more. Dedicated Teams and UC Dual part numbers are also available. That makes the UH42 practical for individual Dubai workstations and for 10, 50 or 200-seat headset rollouts where IT wants one wired family rather than a mix of consumer headsets.

UH42 Mono, Dual, Teams or UC — Pick the Correct Part Number
There isn’t just one UH42 box. Yealink lists three standard part numbers, and that matters when a procurement team is ordering 20 or 100 units. The Dual headset is available in separate Microsoft Teams and UC versions. The Mono version is supplied as a USB-C/A configuration.
| Part Number | Version | Typical Desk |
|---|---|---|
| 1308195 | UH42 Dual Teams USB-C/A | Microsoft Teams calling desks |
| 1308215 | UH42 Dual UC USB-C/A | General UC and softphone users |
| 1308240 | UH42 Mono USB-C/A | Reception, service desks and shared offices |
For a reception desk in JLT where the user also needs to hear visitors standing at the counter, Mono usually makes more sense. For a customer-service team taking calls for most of the day, Dual covers both ears and reduces the amount of room sound reaching the user. Different job. Different version. For larger purchasing projects, we normally map the headset version to the user’s calling platform and desk role before quantities are finalised.
One Microphone — Acoustic Shield 3.0 Does the Work Behind It
The UH42 uses 1 microphone rather than a multi-microphone boom array. That single microphone works with Yealink Acoustic Shield 3.0, which processes the voice signal to reduce surrounding noise reaching the far end of the call. Its specified microphone frequency response is 100 Hz to 14 kHz.
Dubai HVAC noise without putting the caller inside your office
A ceiling AC outlet 2 metres above a desk can stay audible to the person wearing a headset without needing to dominate the outgoing call. Acoustic Shield 3.0 is designed to isolate the user’s speech from nearby background sound. Useful on call-centre rows, support desks and open offices where multiple conversations happen inside the same 20-to-40-square-metre area.
300° boom rotation — microphone on either side
The microphone boom rotates through 300°. A user can position the boom from the left or right side instead of having the headset dictate how it must be worn. That sounds minor until 40 people share the same headset specification and half the floor naturally prefers the microphone on the other side.
Glass partitions are another common Dubai problem. A DIFC office may have 6 meeting rooms around an open support area, but glass doesn’t stop every voice from carrying. The UH42 can’t change the room acoustics, and it shouldn’t be sold as if it can. What it does is work on the microphone signal so the person at the far end hears more of the headset user’s voice and less of the activity around that desk.
35 mm Speakers and Dynamic EQ — Calls at 10AM, Music at 1PM
Each UH42 earpiece uses a 35 mm speaker. Yealink specifies a 20 Hz to 20 kHz overall speaker frequency range, with 100 Hz to 20 kHz bandwidth in talk mode and 20 Hz to 20 kHz in music mode. Speaker sensitivity is rated at 113.8 ±3 dB at 0.980 V.
The more interesting detail is dynamic EQ. The headset changes its audio response between call and music use rather than applying exactly the same tuning to both. Spoken audio needs intelligibility through the midrange. Music and training videos benefit from a wider frequency range. One headset handles both jobs during the working day.
For a DMCC sales team, that could mean 12 customer calls before lunch, a 30-minute Teams training session after lunch and recorded product material between calls. There is no need to unplug the business headset every time the task changes. For other wired and wireless options, the full Yealink headset range in Dubai covers single-user desks through larger office deployments.
The Cable Length Is More Useful Than the Product Photos Suggest
Yealink splits the UH42 cable into 2 sections. From the headset to the inline call controller there is 0.65 m. From that controller to the USB plug there is another 1.5 m. The total physical run gives enough freedom for a user sitting at a normal desk with the PC under the tabletop or positioned to one side.
The inline controller stays within reach rather than disappearing beside the computer. Its controls handle answer, end or reject, volume up and down, and microphone mute or unmute. For somebody taking 60 calls through a shift, those physical controls matter. Reaching for a mouse to find an on-screen mute button every time somebody walks up to the desk gets old very quickly.
Hearing Protection for Headsets Worn for Hours
Headset purchasing is often decided by microphone quality and price, while the person wearing it may spend 6 to 8 hours with audio directly at the ear. The UH42 includes 3 specified hearing-protection functions: Peak Block Protection under EN50332, Australian G616 protection, and Daily Noise Exposure Protection.
That makes the hearing-protection specification worth recording during larger service-desk and call-centre purchases rather than treating every USB headset as interchangeable. The UH42 is an on-ear design, with memory-foam ear cushions and replaceable pads. When a cushion becomes worn after long daily use, the headset itself doesn’t automatically need to be discarded.

Yealink specifies Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS support for the UH42 and states compatibility across more than 100 platforms and operating systems. For Teams estates, part number 1308195 is the dedicated UH42 Dual Teams USB-C/A version. The 1308215 Dual version is the UC model.
The physical computer connection is USB-C. A USB-A adapter is supplied, so an office doesn’t need to standardise every workstation on the same USB connector before deploying the headset. That’s useful during PC replacement projects where 2026 laptops may use USB-C while older desktop machines on the same floor still present USB-A ports.
If the headset is being purchased alongside desk phones rather than only for PCs, check the exact phone and calling-platform requirement before ordering the full quantity. You can also see our Yealink IP phone range when planning the handset and headset together. We don’t assume that every call-control function behaves identically on every phone simply because both devices carry a Yealink badge.

Where the UH42 Fits — And Where It Doesn’t
The UH42 makes sense when the headset stays at a desk: call centres, reception counters, customer-support teams, finance desks, inside-sales departments and staff who spend several hours per day in Teams or UC calls. No charging cycle. No radio range to plan. One USB connection and the headset is ready for the next call.
For a 25-seat support room in Business Bay, wired headsets also remove 25 batteries from the IT team’s list of things that can be flat at 9:00 AM. For hot-desking areas, the USB-C/A connection means the same UH42 can cover newer laptops and older desktop PCs without keeping two different connector versions in stock.
Not the right fit?
If the user needs to walk 10 or 20 metres away from the desk while staying on a call, a wired UH42 is the wrong type of headset. Look at the Yealink wireless headset range instead. The UH42 is for people who work at the desk and want a fixed USB connection without charging or wireless setup.
PC Softphone, Desk Phone and PABX Use — What Actually Connects to What
The UH42 is a USB audio device. It does not register a SIP extension, connect directly to an Etisalat or du business line, or hold its own 3CX account. The calling device does that job. On a Windows or macOS computer, your Teams client, browser calling platform or softphone handles the call while the UH42 provides the microphone, speakers and call controls.
The same distinction matters in a Dubai office running a PABX. Your Grandstream, 3CX, Yeastar, Avaya or other telephone platform provides the extension. The headset sits at the user end of the chain. If an e& or du service terminates on the office PABX, that telecom connection stays exactly where it is — adding a UH42 does not change the telephone service or require another line.
Using UH42 with a Yealink desk phone?
Yealink describes the UH42 as supporting deeper integration with compatible Yealink IP phones, including call-control and headset-management functions. Compatibility is phone-model dependent. Send us the exact phone model before ordering a 20, 50 or 100-headset batch and we will check the workstation combination first rather than assuming every USB-equipped phone exposes the same controls.
This is especially useful during office refreshes where the support team works from PCs but reception still uses physical handsets. The headset requirement may look identical from the purchasing spreadsheet. It isn’t always identical at the desk. For offices replacing handsets at the same time, see the Yealink IP phone range and we can check the phone and headset as one workstation.
What’s in the UH42 Box
The exact headset in the carton depends on whether you order Mono, Dual Teams or Dual UC. The standard UH42 connection is USB-C, and Yealink supplies a USB-A adapter so the same headset can cover both connector types.
Included: Yealink UH42 headset in the ordered configuration, integrated inline call controller, USB-C connection cable, USB-A adapter and product documentation.
The headset is USB powered. There is no charging base, battery pack or wireless receiver to maintain because the UH42 is a wired model.
Not included — check before ordering
The standard UH42 is not the UH42 SE, so do not order it expecting a separate 3.5 mm analogue connection. It also does not include a DECT base, Bluetooth dongle or wireless charging stand. If the user needs to move away from the desk during calls, choose a wireless model from the Yealink headset range instead.
Managing 5 Headsets Is Easy. Managing 200 Needs a Plan.
One UH42 plugged into one laptop needs almost no IT planning. Roll out 150 units across a call centre and the question changes. IT wants to know which model is attached, whether the estate uses Teams or UC variants, and how headset settings are handled without walking from desk to desk.
Yealink lists both Yealink USB Connect for PC administration and Yealink Management Cloud Service for the UH42. USB Connect gives the administrator a local management route on a computer. YMCS gives larger Yealink estates a central management layer rather than treating every USB peripheral as an anonymous device.
That is useful for a Dubai contact centre occupying 2 floors, a DIFC finance team with controlled workstation builds, or a company splitting staff between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Hardware standardisation becomes much easier when procurement records the exact 1308195, 1308215 or 1308240 part number rather than writing only “Yealink headset” on the asset list.
UH42 for Call Centres, Support Desks and Shared Dubai Offices
There are jobs where wireless is useful. There are also jobs where it adds a battery, another radio connection and another charging routine without solving a real problem. A customer-service agent sitting at the same workstation for most of an 8-hour shift is the obvious UH42 user.
Take a support floor in Business Bay with 40 agents. Half the noise problem comes from other voices and the other half from HVAC running throughout the working day. The UH42 puts Acoustic Shield 3.0 on the outgoing microphone path, while the Dual version covers both ears for users who don’t need to monitor the room. At reception, the Mono version leaves one ear free for visitors and colleagues.
The replaceable ear cushions matter in this type of deployment as well. Pads take the daily wear. The 300° microphone boom helps different users position the microphone on their preferred side, and the USB-C plus USB-A arrangement means a PC replacement project doesn’t automatically force a headset replacement project at the same time.
Related Yealink Headsets — Don’t Put the Same Model on Every Desk
The UH42 is the fixed-desk choice in this group. When we’re planning a larger office, we normally split headset models by job rather than forcing reception, sales managers and call-centre agents onto one design.

Yealink UH42 UAE Supply — Dubai, Abu Dhabi and All Emirates
UH42 supply is available for single users, department orders and company-wide deployments across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. For headset projects, installation normally means workstation rollout support: checking the version, connecting the headset, confirming the operating system sees the correct microphone and speaker, and testing call controls on the customer’s approved calling platform.
That setup support is included with our UAE deployment service rather than treated as a separate installation charge. For larger quantities, send the number of users, Mono or Dual preference, and whether the estate is primarily Microsoft Teams or mixed UC. We can split the quotation by department instead of supplying the same SKU to every desk.
UH42 Export from Dubai — Africa and MEA Projects
Enterprise procurement teams and IT resellers can order UH42 project quantities from Dubai for South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and Egypt. Mono and Dual requirements can be separated within the same project so reception and call-centre users do not have to take identical configurations.
Orders are prepared from Dubai for reseller and corporate deployment requirements, with FOB Dubai pricing available for project quantities. Send the destination, quantity and exact Teams or UC requirement on WhatsApp so the correct part numbers are quoted.
For multi-office projects, cartons can be planned around site quantities rather than sending one undivided headset batch. That works well for IT companies supplying branches or customer-service operations across several locations.
GCC and South Asia shipments can also be quoted from Dubai alongside Africa/MEA orders. WhatsApp +971 55 986 3697 with the destination and required quantity for current stock and export pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I order the UH42 Mono or Dual for our call-centre team?
For agents who spend most of the shift on calls, the 160 g Dual version covers both ears and is usually the more logical layout. The 116 g Mono version suits reception, help desks and staff who need to hear colleagues or visitors while wearing the headset. For a large order, we can split Mono and Dual quantities by department.
Will the UH42 work if our laptops have USB-C but some old PCs still use USB-A?
Yes. The standard UH42 uses USB-C and includes a USB-A adapter. That lets the same headset specification cover newer USB-C laptops and older USB-A workstations without ordering two separate connector versions.
Does the UH42 connect directly to our Etisalat or du telephone line?
No. The UH42 is a USB headset, not a SIP telephone. Your PC softphone or compatible desk phone handles the call account. If your company voice service comes from e&/Etisalat or du through a PABX, the UH42 simply provides the user’s microphone and earpiece at the workstation.
Can I plug the UH42 into a Yealink desk phone?
Yealink documents deeper UH42 integration with compatible Yealink IP phones, but phone support and call-control behaviour depend on the exact model. Send us the model number printed on the phone before ordering a large batch and we will check the headset/phone combination first.
Is the Yealink UH42 suitable for a noisy Dubai call centre?
The UH42 uses 1 microphone with Yealink Acoustic Shield 3.0 to reduce surrounding noise in the outgoing voice signal. It is a sensible wired option for fixed call-centre desks with HVAC hum and nearby conversations. If the user also needs active noise cancellation at the ears, compare a different Yealink headset before ordering.
Is the Yealink UH42 in stock in Dubai and can you supply 50 or 100 units?
