Moving the conference phone 1 metre toward him only creates the same problem at the other end. Running two microphone cables across a polished table in a DIFC or Business Bay boardroom isn’t a serious answer either.
The Yealink CPW65 fixes that layout with two wireless DECT microphones. Put one toward each end of the table, keep the CP965 in its normal central position, and give the people furthest from the conference phone their own nearby pickup point. Where the CPW65 Actually Makes Sense
The CPW65 is an expansion microphone system, not a standalone conference phone. Its clearest use is with the Yealink CP965 in rooms where the people at the ends of the table sit outside the comfortable pickup area of the main unit. If your current CP965 already covers everyone clearly, adding another 2 microphones won’t improve the room just because more hardware is present.
Where it earns its place is a longer boardroom. Think 8 to 14 people around a rectangular table, with the CP965 positioned in the centre and one CPW65 moved toward each end. Each wireless microphone covers a 3-metre radius around its position. Because the pair connects without table cables, you can move them when the room layout changes — useful in training rooms, folding-table setups and executive rooms where seating gets rearranged between meetings.
For Dubai offices with glass partitions, hard flooring and strong ceiling HVAC, microphone position matters. The CPW65 doesn’t remove the need for sensible room acoustics, but it gets the microphone physically closer to the speaker. The CPW65 package contains 2 wireless microphones rather than a single unit. Each microphone contains 3 internal microphones arranged for 360° pickup, so the device doesn’t need to be pointed at whoever is talking. Put it flat on the table and let the people around it speak normally.
The pair uses DECT wireless connectivity. Yealink rates the working distance at up to 20 metres between the wireless microphone system and the compatible host setup. Don’t confuse that number with voice pickup. The microphone does not pick up a person speaking clearly from 20 metres away. Voice pickup is rated at a 3-metre radius around each CPW65. The 20-metre figure is the wireless connection distance.
That difference matters when designing a room. A facilities team may see “20m wireless range” and assume one microphone covers a 20-metre boardroom. It doesn’t. In a proper layout, the wireless link gives you freedom to place the microphone, while the 3-metre pickup radius determines which seats should sit near it.

Cradle or Direct USB Charging
At the end of the day, both microphones can be placed back on the supplied charging cradle. The CPW65 can also be charged directly by USB when needed. That gives an IT team a second charging option if one microphone is being used away from the normal boardroom table.
Why Wireless Matters on a Finished Boardroom Table
A wired expansion microphone is easy to specify before the furniture arrives. It becomes much less attractive after the boardroom is finished. Stone tables, custom cable boxes and glass tables give installers very few places to hide another cable. CP965, Teams Rooms and Platform Compatibility
For most buyers, the key compatibility point is simple: the CPW65 is used as wireless expansion audio for a compatible Yealink room system, with the CP965 being its main conference-phone pairing. The CPW65 itself does not register a SIP account, dial a phone number or run Microsoft Teams. The host device handles the call. The microphone handles the room audio pickup.

Etisalat, du and PABX Compatibility — What the Microphone Does
The CPW65 doesn’t register to a PABX by itself. No SIP extension. No Etisalat or du account inside the microphone. It is an audio accessory connected to a compatible Yealink host device, and that host handles the actual call platform.
So if your CP965 is configured for your office calling environment, adding CPW65 microphones doesn’t change the telephone-side configuration. The microphones extend where voices are picked up around the table. Your CP965 continues handling the call. That separation is useful for IT teams because adding the wireless microphones doesn’t mean rebuilding the existing SIP account or changing the room number.
