Don’t choose the Workstation just because it has more hardware.
If the employee carries a laptop between two locations every week, the WH68 Hybrid’s 4.5 g DECT dongle is usually the cleaner fit. If the headset will stay on one assigned desk and needs long DECT coverage, the standard WH68 keeps the full WHB680 base in place. A Microsoft Teams user can still have a Yealink IP phone beside the monitor, while customers and suppliers call the employee’s mobile directly. The WH68 combines Bluetooth 5.3 and DECT in the headset so the user isn’t forced to keep separate headsets for separate devices.
Bluetooth operating range is rated up to 50 metres / 164 feet. DECT goes considerably farther: up to 185 metres on the WH68 and WH68 Workstation, or up to 150 metres on the WH68 Hybrid. Those are manufacturer maximums rather than a promise that a headset will cross 185 metres of concrete walls. Those are two different jobs. The WH68 uses 2 feedforward and 2 feedback microphones for Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation. That system is aimed at the wearer. Switch ANC on and steady environmental noise reaching the ears is reduced, which matters when the desk is below a ceiling AC outlet or beside an active sales team.
4-Microphone Call Noise Cancellation

When the WH68 family is the wrong fit

Desk Phone and PABX Use in Dubai Offices
The WH68 doesn’t register to a PABX by itself. The headset connects to the user’s PC, mobile device or compatible desk phone, and the phone remains the SIP endpoint registered to your office telephone system. That distinction matters when you’re planning 20, 50 or 200 desks.
So if your Dubai office runs an Etisalat or du SIP service through a compatible Yealink desk phone, the WH68 handles the audio and call control at the user’s desk while the phone handles the SIP account. The same principle applies when the phones are registered to a 3CX, Yeastar, Grandstream UCM, Asterisk or another SIP-based office platform. Headset compatibility is checked against the phone model rather than against the SIP provider name.
Yealink documents WH68 support across compatible T3X, T4X and T5X desk-phone families. Some models can connect through USB; certain older T4X desk phones use an EHS62 connection for remote call control. Desk phone connection accessories depend on the phone model. An EHS62 or another connection accessory may be required with particular phones. The PC, desk phone and mobile device are also separate.
