Start With the Room Size — MVC340 Is a Small-Room System

This is where buying by model number can go wrong. The MVC340 isn’t meant to stretch across a long boardroom because somebody found space for eight more chairs. Yealink positions this configuration around focus rooms, huddle spaces and small meeting rooms. Think roughly 2 to 6 people with the main seats reasonably close to the display and UVC34.

The microphone numbers are useful here. The UVC34 has an 8+1 MEMS microphone array with a stated pickup reach of up to 5 metres, while Yealink’s deployment guidance identifies around 4.5 metres as the excellent pickup range. Those aren’t the same thing. A voice at the edge of the maximum range can still be detected; planning the table around the stronger zone gives remote participants cleaner speech. In a four-person DIFC meeting room that’s easy. Put a 10-seat table into the same space and the geometry changes.

What the III-Generation MVC340 Actually Includes

The current MVC340-C4-000 is a three-part Microsoft Teams Rooms system. The MCore Pro is the Windows compute unit. The MTouch E2 is the 8-inch tabletop controller. The UVC34 sits at the front of the room and handles the camera, microphones and speaker. They work as one dedicated room rather than three unrelated devices.

That distinction is important when you’re comparing the MVC340 with a USB camera. A USB camera depends on whoever brings the computer. The MVC340 has its own Teams Rooms computer and its own room control interface. The meeting room has an identity, calendar and Teams Rooms account. Staff don’t have to donate their laptop to the room for the duration of every call.

For an IT team fitting several small rooms in Business Bay or DMCC, the same arrangement can be repeated room after room: UVC34 at the display, MTouch E2 where people naturally reach it, MCore Pro concealed with the room equipment, and a consistent Teams Rooms interface for users. UVC34 Camera — Wide Enough for Seats Close to the Screen

Small rooms are awkward for conventional cameras because people often sit close to the front wall. The nearest chair might be only a short distance from the display, particularly in converted glass meeting rooms where every square metre counts. The UVC34 uses an 8MP 4K camera with a 120° diagonal field of view, 110° horizontal view and 78° vertical view. It can see across a short table without making everyone squeeze toward the centre.

Electronic pan, tilt and 5× zoom handle framing without moving mechanical camera parts around the room. The UVC34 also stores up to 9 camera presets. That gives a facilities or AV team repeatable views for a whiteboard position, a presentation seat or another fixed area instead of manually rebuilding the shot every time.

AI Face Enhancement is also available on the camera. In practical terms, it helps keep faces usable when meeting-room lighting isn’t ideal — for example, bright daylight through one side of a glass partition while the opposite side of the room sits under cooler ceiling lighting.

Audio Designed Around the Same Small-Room Geometry

The UVC34 doesn’t need a separate tabletop microphone in a correctly sized MVC340 room. Its 8+1 MEMS microphone array uses beamforming and sound localisation to identify speech, while full-duplex audio allows people at both ends to speak without the room repeatedly cutting one side off.

Yealink Noise Proof processing deals with repetitive room sounds rather than simply raising microphone gain. Think keyboard taps, chair movement and the continuous HVAC background you get through most of the year in Dubai. Dereverberation addresses a different problem: speech reflecting from glass, painted walls and hard flooring. A room can be quiet and still sound hollow. Treating noise and room echo as separate issues makes more sense than describing both as one generic microphone feature.

MTouch E2 — The Part Staff Actually Use

The MTouch E2 is an 8-inch 1280 × 800 IPS touch panel with 10-point capacitive touch. Its stand adjusts from 28° to 50°, so it can sit low on a boardroom table rather than standing upright like another monitor. The panel is where users see the Teams Rooms interface, upcoming room meetings and call controls.

A built-in motion sensor can wake the room when somebody approaches. Small feature. Useful one. In a shared office, the display and controller don’t need to sit awake all day just because somebody might use the room at 3PM.

The MTouch E2 also provides HDMI and USB-C content input, with content sharing up to 1080p at 30 frames per second. We’ll cover wired sharing, WPP30 wireless presentation and guest-laptop use in the second half because the exact workflow matters when external visitors bring Zoom, Google Meet or another meeting platform into a Teams room.

Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows

The MVC340 is a native Microsoft Teams Rooms system, not an Android MeetingBar and not a generic USB conference bar sold with a Teams logo beside it. The MCore Pro provides the Windows compute layer and the MTouch E2 provides the room interface. For companies already using Microsoft 365 and Teams calendars, that gives the room its own meeting workflow rather than depending on one participant’s PC.

Native Zoom Rooms certification should not be assumed for this MVC340 configuration. If Teams is your company’s room platform but visitors occasionally arrive with meetings hosted elsewhere, the right answer is to plan the guest/BYOD workflow rather than advertising the room as natively running every platform. For a small Microsoft Teams room, those specifications translate into a fairly simple installation target: keep participants inside the practical audio zone, position the UVC34 so the 110° horizontal view catches every seat naturally, and give users the MTouch E2 rather than expecting them to operate the room from a keyboard. That is the difference between installing a Teams device and building a Teams room people can actually use.

Content Sharing, Guest Laptops and BYOD

A dedicated Teams Room doesn’t mean every visitor has to use your Microsoft tenant. That’s an important distinction in Dubai offices where clients arrive with their own laptop and their own meeting invite. The MVC340 is normally left signed into the company’s Microsoft Teams Rooms account for everyday room use, while wired or wireless presentation options handle guest content when somebody needs to put a spreadsheet, drawing or presentation on the room screen.

For wired presentation, the MTouch E2 accepts HDMI and USB-C input and supports content sharing up to 1080p at 30 frames per second. Put the connection where people actually sit. Running the cable to the touch panel is much cleaner than asking a visitor to walk behind the 65-inch display looking for an HDMI socket while six people watch.

For rooms where visitors present regularly, add the Yealink wireless presentation and BYOD option. The WPP30 gives users a button-based wireless sharing workflow without relying on the room’s display cable. That’s useful in sales rooms and consultancy offices where three different laptops may touch the room before lunch.

What About Etisalat, du and the Office PABX?

The MVC340 isn’t installed like a Yealink desk phone. You don’t take the box out, enter a SIP extension from a Grandstream UCM or 3CX server and treat the room as another telephone handset. Its primary calling environment is Microsoft Teams Rooms.

If your company already uses Microsoft Teams Phone with operator connectivity, Direct Routing or another approved Teams voice architecture, PSTN calling can be handled through the Microsoft environment according to the configuration and licences on your tenant. Your existing Etisalat or du services remain part of the wider voice design rather than being registered directly on the UVC34 camera bar.

For offices that need conventional SIP extensions alongside the meeting room, we normally keep those functions separate. The meeting room stays on Teams and the desk-phone estate remains on the office PABX. That avoids turning a small Teams Room into a troubleshooting exercise involving unrelated voice settings. MVC340 Installation in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

A small Teams Room is usually quicker to fit than a large boardroom system, but the room still needs proper planning. Camera height matters. So does the distance between the UVC34 and the furthest chair. A shiny glass wall opposite the display can create reflections. And if the only network socket is behind the receptionist’s desk 12 metres away, we’d rather know before the installer opens the box.

One small Teams Room is easy to check manually. Twenty aren’t. The useful part of a managed deployment is being able to see room health, device status and configuration without sending somebody to every floor because one user says, “the meeting room isn’t working.”

The MVC340 sits inside the Microsoft Teams Rooms management environment, while Yealink management tools provide another layer for supported Yealink room hardware. For IT teams rolling out meeting spaces across several UAE offices, this is the part to plan before handover: naming convention, room accounts, network access, management ownership and who receives fault alerts.

Good room management is boring when it’s working. That’s the point. Nobody should need to drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi because a peripheral can be diagnosed remotely.

Where the MVC340 Makes Sense

Consulting firms are a good example. Four people in Dubai, two colleagues joining from another office, client deck on screen. The room needs to start quickly because the meeting isn’t an AV demonstration. It also needs enough camera width that the person sitting closest to the display isn’t cropped out.

The same applies to manager rooms, interview spaces, project rooms and small conference rooms in Abu Dhabi. The MVC340 gives those spaces a permanent Teams identity without installing separate tabletop microphones and speakers everywhere. Fewer visible components. Less equipment on a small table.

Where it doesn’t make sense: a 14-person boardroom with a long polished table and people sitting well past the UVC34’s useful microphone zone. Use the right-sized MVC architecture there. Saving money on the room kit and then spending every meeting repeating questions from the far end isn’t a saving.

Not as a normal SIP desk phone. MVC340 is designed around Microsoft Teams Rooms. PSTN calling is handled through the organisation’s Microsoft Teams voice setup where the required Teams Phone, operator or Direct Routing services are configured. Conventional SIP phones can remain on the existing office PABX separately.
