Description
Yealink MVC S98 Microsoft Teams Rooms System Dubai
A 22-seat boardroom in DIFC can look impressive in person and still look terrible on Microsoft Teams. One camera at the front sees the nearest six people clearly and turns the far end of the table into a row of small faces. Someone stands beside the display to present and walks out of shot. Another person speaks from eight metres away and the remote side has to work out who it was.
That problem gets worse in rooms with glass partitions, movable walls, multiple displays or a presenter who needs to move. These aren’t MeetingBar rooms. They’re designed spaces where the camera positions, microphone layout, speakers, cabling and room control all need to work together.
The Yealink MVC S98 is built for that class of Microsoft Teams Room. It combines MCore 4 computing, MTouch Plus room control, SmartVision 80 camera hardware and AVHub-based room integration. The result isn’t one camera trying to cover everything from one position. The system can be engineered around the table, front wall and presentation area. For Dubai offices fitting executive boardrooms, divisible meeting rooms and training spaces, that difference matters.

Why the MVC S98 Sits Above a Normal Teams Room Kit
The MVC S98 is not simply a larger camera bundled with a Windows PC. Its architecture is built around AVHub, which allows the room to use several camera positions and a designed audio system. A standard deployment can include multiple SmartVision 80 cameras, while the AVHub architecture supports up to 9 cameras where the room requires more viewpoints.
That opens up layouts a single front-of-room camera can’t handle properly. Think of a long executive table with a front display and a side presentation wall. Or a training room where the instructor moves between a lectern, screen and audience. A divisible room is another case: when the partition opens, the meeting area changes shape and one fixed camera position may no longer make sense.
For straightforward meeting rooms, start with the wider Yealink Microsoft Teams room range. The MVC S98 belongs at the other end of that decision. Large rooms. Complex sight lines. Several viewing angles. Proper room audio. Installed as a system rather than placed on a shelf.
SmartVision 80 — 3+1 Cameras Instead of One View
SmartVision 80 uses a 3+1-eye camera design. That gives the system different visual tools instead of asking one lens to handle a wide boardroom and a distant presenter at the same time. The optical camera provides 20× zoom for distant subjects, while the wider camera system handles room framing and participant views.
20-Metre Presenter Tracking
A presenter can move at the front of a large training room while the SmartVision 80 follows from distances up to 20 metres. That’s useful when the camera can’t sit three metres from the presenter because the first rows, display wall or lectern occupy that space.
Multi-Stream IntelliFrame
Instead of sending only one wide image of a long table, Multi-Stream IntelliFrame can present room participants as separate streams with name information inside Microsoft Teams. A person sitting twelve seats away is no longer reduced to a small face at the edge of a 16:9 room view.
Video Fence for Glass Offices
Many Dubai meeting rooms in JLT, Business Bay and DMCC have glass walls facing corridors or open offices. Video Fence lets the camera focus on the defined meeting area rather than treating movement outside the room boundary as part of the meeting.
Speaker Tracking follows the active person rather than leaving the full room on screen during every discussion.
Auto Framing adjusts the view around the people who are actually in the room. A 24-seat room used by 8 people doesn’t need to spend the whole call showing empty chairs.
IntelliFocus gives remote participants a closer view of active speakers, useful when conversations move quickly around a long table.
Picture-in-Picture keeps wider room context visible while presenting a closer view of the active area. Different camera behaviour can be selected around the way the room is used rather than forcing every meeting into the same framing style.
Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows — MCore 4 at the Centre
The S98 is a Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows system. The current MCore 4 platform uses an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H processor, 16GB DDR5 memory and a 256GB SSD. The processor platform includes an NPU rated at 34 TOPS for local AI workloads.
MCore 4 provides three HDMI display outputs. That’s a practical number in executive rooms where one screen may carry remote participants, another carries shared content and a third is required for the room layout. The exact Teams display arrangement still depends on the approved Microsoft Teams Rooms configuration and room design.
Room control is handled from MTouch Plus rather than a keyboard and mouse left on the boardroom table. Users see the scheduled Teams meeting, join from the room controller and operate the meeting from the table. For IT teams rolling out several video conferencing rooms across the UAE, the user experience stays familiar even when the physical rooms have very different camera and audio designs.

RoomSensor — Occupancy Plus Room Conditions
The S98 package can include Yealink RoomSensor, and this is more useful than a simple motion detector outside the door. The sensor measures room occupancy together with temperature, humidity and ambient light. BLE 5.2 communication reaches up to 30 metres, and up to 4 sensors can work through BLE mesh.
Occupancy data is useful in Dubai offices dealing with ghost bookings. A large DIFC boardroom reserved for two hours but left empty after 35 minutes is expensive space sitting unused. Environmental readings also give facilities teams another way to spot room conditions that affect comfort — particularly when HVAC settings differ between enclosed boardrooms and the surrounding office.

Which Rooms Should Use the MVC S98?
There isn’t a sensible single seat-count rule for the S98. A 20-person rectangular boardroom can be easier to cover than a 16-person divisible room with two display walls. Camera distance, ceiling height, table shape, speaker position and whether people present while standing all affect the design.
| Room Type | Typical Requirement | Fit |
|---|---|---|
| Small Meeting Room | Single display, short table, one camera position | Use a smaller Teams Room system |
| Standard Boardroom | One main table, conventional front-of-room layout | MVC S80 / S90 may be enough |
| Large Executive Room | Long camera distances, several participant zones, multiple displays | MVC S98 |
| Training / Presentation Room | Presenter movement plus audience coverage | MVC S98 |
| Divisible Room | Layout changes when partition opens or closes | MVC S98 with engineered AV design |
Don’t buy the S98 by seat count alone
If your room has one display, one straight table and one clear camera position, the S98 may be more system than you need. If it has movable partitions, long sight lines, several presentation zones or a requirement for multiple cameras, that’s when the S98 architecture starts to make sense. Send the room dimensions, table layout and display positions before the final bill of materials is fixed.
Bring Your Own Laptop — Without Giving Up the Room Cameras
The room may run Microsoft Teams every day, then a client arrives with a Webex link, a Google Meet invitation or another meeting platform on their laptop. Rebuilding the room around that one call makes no sense. The MVC-BYOD-Extender gives the S98 a cleaner answer.
Connect the laptop through the BYOD extender and the computer can use the room’s installed camera and audio hardware as conferencing peripherals. The meeting still runs from the visitor’s laptop account, but the people at the table aren’t squeezed around its webcam and built-in microphones. In an S98 room with several SmartVision 80 cameras and designed ceiling audio, that’s a big difference.
This is particularly useful in consulting offices around DIFC and Business Bay where the room belongs to one company but visitors bring meeting links from several platforms. Microsoft Teams remains the native room experience. BYOD handles the exception without turning an engineered boardroom into a laptop meeting.
PABX and Telephone Calling — Where the S98 Fits
The MVC S98 isn’t a SIP desk phone and we don’t configure it by entering a normal PABX extension into the camera system. Telephone calling is handled through the Microsoft Teams environment assigned to the room account.
Where an organisation already has an office PABX or carrier arrangement, Microsoft Teams Phone can connect to existing telephony infrastructure through Direct Routing using a supported Session Border Controller. That lets a company retain parts of its existing voice setup while moving meeting-room calling into Teams. Operator-based Teams Phone services are another route where the chosen carrier and Microsoft tenant support them.
Already running a corporate PABX?
Don’t assume the S98 replaces it. We first check the Microsoft 365 tenant, Teams Phone licensing, SBC or carrier arrangement and the room resource account. The Teams voice design is confirmed separately from the camera and ceiling-audio design.
For UAE businesses using e& or du services, the exact PSTN path depends on the organisation’s Microsoft Teams voice design and contracted carrier service. We don’t claim that the S98 registers directly to an e& or du SIP trunk because that isn’t how this Teams Rooms system is built.
What’s in the MVC S98-C5U-004 Core Package?
The verified MVC S98-C5U-004 configuration, part number 1106797, is a ProAV Teams Rooms package rather than a camera-and-speaker bundle. That distinction matters when comparing quotations.
| Component | Core S98-C5U-004 Configuration |
|---|---|
| SmartVision 80 | 3 camera systems with mounting hardware, power and associated cables |
| MCoreKit-C5U | MCore 4 mini-PC, MTouch Plus and RoomSensor |
| AVHub | 1 multi-camera audio/video processor |
| BYOD | 1 MVC-BYOD-Extender |
| Network Hardware | RCH40 E2 PoE+ switch |
| Room Audio | Not included in the core S98-C5U-004 package |
Not included — room audio must be designed separately
The verified S98-C5U-004 core package does not include ceiling microphones or room speakers. A project may use Yealink ceiling microphones and speakers, compatible room-audio hardware or a third-party DSP connected through AVHub. Displays, display mounts and room-specific infrastructure should also be confirmed against the final bill of materials before ordering.
Ceiling Audio Is Part of the Room Design, Not an Afterthought
A three-camera room can still fail if the audio is wrong. Long tables, high ceilings, acoustic panels, hard glass walls and HVAC outlets all change microphone placement. That’s why the S98 architecture doesn’t force every project into one fixed tabletop microphone arrangement.
Yealink’s own S98 room designs pair the platform with ceiling microphones and ceiling speakers where the layout calls for them. AVHub can also connect a third-party DSP, which is useful when an existing executive room already has installed professional audio equipment that the customer wants to retain.
For new rooms, we map microphone and speaker positions against the table and ceiling rather than simply multiplying hardware by seat count. See the room audio and microphone range when the S98 is being specified as part of a new boardroom fit-out.
How We Approach an MVC S98 Installation in Dubai
We don’t arrive with three cameras and decide where they go after drilling starts. The camera views, display positions, ceiling hardware and cable routes are agreed from the room drawing first.
1
Room survey — Measure table length, room width, ceiling height, partition locations, display walls, presentation area, network points and existing AV equipment.
2
AV layout — Decide what each SmartVision 80 needs to see, where the presenter moves, how ceiling audio is divided and whether the room changes when a partition opens.
3
Teams configuration — Connect the MCore 4 and MTouch Plus, sign in using the room resource account, verify displays and check the Microsoft Teams Rooms controls.
4
Live handover test — Test participant views, presenter movement, microphone coverage, content sharing and BYOD from the actual seating positions before the room is handed over.
Yealink MVC S98 UAE supply and installation covers Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Multi-room work across JLT, DMCC, DIFC and other UAE business districts can be scoped as one project rather than treated as unrelated room purchases.

Related Yealink Systems to Check Before Finalising the Room
Not every large room needs an S98, and an S98 quote isn’t finished until the camera, audio and sharing pieces have been checked. These are the products and product families we normally review around the project:
- Yealink MVC S90 — worth checking first for a large but less complicated Teams boardroom where fewer camera positions are required.
- Yealink MVC S80 — another step down when the room doesn’t need the full S98 ProAV architecture.
- Yealink SmartVision 80 — the 3+1-eye camera platform used in the S98, with 20× optical reach for distant presenter and participant views.
- Yealink CM20 / CM50 ceiling microphones — specify according to room dimensions, ceiling design and required pickup zones.
- Yealink CS10 ceiling speakers — used where distributed ceiling audio suits the room layout.
- Yealink BYOD and presentation accessories — useful where visiting laptops and mixed meeting platforms are common.
- Yealink video conferencing systems — compare the wider room range before committing to a ProAV S98 design.
Where the S98 Makes Sense in the UAE
A corporate boardroom with 24 seats and three displays is the obvious case, but training spaces are often a stronger reason to move to the S98. A trainer can stand well away from the camera, move beside a presentation wall and still be tracked at distances up to 20 metres. Audience views can come from different camera positions rather than one very wide shot from the back of the room.
Divisible rooms are another fit. A movable partition changes where the front of the meeting is, which seats belong to the call and which camera angle makes sense. AVHub gives the integrator room to design around that changing layout instead of pretending the partition doesn’t exist.
For an Abu Dhabi executive office, Dubai HQ, university training facility or multi-purpose corporate room, send us the floor plan before specifying quantities. The S98 is capable of supporting complex rooms, but adding cameras without a reason only adds cost and another angle nobody uses.
MVC S98 Export from Dubai — Africa and MEA Projects
We supply MVC S98 project quantities from Dubai for corporate AV teams and system integrators working in South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Kenya. For export jobs, the useful information isn’t just the number of S98 kits — we also need the planned audio system, number of rooms and whether each space is a standard boardroom, training room or divisible room.
FOB Dubai quotations can cover the core Teams Rooms hardware together with required Yealink room-audio components where the project BOM has already been approved. Mixed project quantities can be packed around the room schedule rather than treating every room as identical.
For system installers bidding on several sites, send the room list and required quantities on WhatsApp +971 55 986 3697. We can quote the equipment against each room type so the smaller spaces aren’t loaded with S98 hardware they don’t need.
Export pricing is prepared from Dubai. Freight, destination clearance and local installation requirements depend on the project country and agreed shipping terms.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the MVC S98 too much for a normal 12-person boardroom?
Often, yes. If the room has one straight table, one front display and one straightforward camera position, a smaller MVC system may cover it with less hardware. The S98 starts to earn its place when you have long viewing distances, multiple presentation areas, several cameras, ceiling audio or a divisible-room layout.
Does the MVC S98 package include the ceiling microphones and speakers?
Not in the verified MVC S98-C5U-004 core package. That configuration includes the Teams Rooms compute and controller, 3 SmartVision 80 camera systems, AVHub, BYOD extender, RoomSensor and network hardware, but no room-audio devices. Microphones, speakers and any DSP are specified around the actual room.
Can we use Zoom or a client’s meeting link in an S98 Teams Room?
The S98 is a native Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows system. For meetings that need to run from a visitor’s own laptop, the MVC-BYOD-Extender lets that laptop use the room’s installed camera and audio devices. We don’t describe the S98 itself as a native Zoom Rooms kit.
Will it connect directly to our e&, du or office PABX SIP account?
Not as a normal SIP endpoint. PSTN and existing-PABX integration is handled through the Microsoft Teams Phone design, such as Direct Routing through a supported SBC or an applicable operator-based Teams service. We check the tenant, licensing and voice architecture separately from the MVC S98 room hardware.
How many cameras can one MVC S98 room use?
AVHub supports up to 9 cameras. That doesn’t mean every S98 room should have 9. The verified S98-C5U-004 package uses 3 SmartVision 80 units, and additional camera requirements should be based on sight lines, presenter locations, partitions and the number of distinct room zones.
