Eight people around a long meeting table. The main camera is mounted below the display, so the two people at the far end look fine. Everyone sitting along the sides? Mostly profiles. When somebody beside you starts talking, the remote team sees an ear, a shoulder and half a face. That’s a common problem in longer Dubai boardrooms — especially rooms in DIFC, DMCC and Business Bay where the table runs straight toward the display.
The Yealink MTower fixes the viewing angle from the middle of the room. It sits on the meeting table as a companion camera to a compatible Microsoft Teams Rooms system, adding a centre-of-table perspective alongside the main front camera. Three 4K cameras cover a combined 322° view. The result is simple: people sitting along both sides of the table can be shown more naturally to remote participants instead of being seen almost entirely from the side.

What the Yealink MTower Actually Does
MTower isn’t another camera to mount under the display. It belongs on the table. The unit adds a second viewing position from inside the meeting itself, giving a compatible Teams Rooms setup both the traditional front-of-room image and a centre view from where people are actually sitting.
That distinction matters. A front camera is still useful for showing the room as a whole, presenters standing near the display and people sitting directly opposite the screen. MTower handles the angles that become awkward when participants sit down both sides of a rectangular table. Instead of forcing one camera position to do everything, the room gets more than one useful perspective.
For companies planning a wider room refresh, MTower sits inside the Yealink video conferencing range rather than replacing it. Think companion camera, not complete meeting-room endpoint. The room still needs a compatible Microsoft Teams Rooms system, display and front-facing camera arrangement.
Three Cameras, Three Different Jobs
Inside the MTower are three separate 4K cameras. One telephoto camera covers an 84.4° horizontal field of view. The two side cameras are much wider at 151° each. Together, Yealink specifies a combined 322° viewing area around the table.

The narrower central camera concentrates on participants in the direction it faces instead of trying to cover the entire room with one very wide image. That gives the MTower a more controlled participant view when somebody is speaking across the table.
Two 151° Side Cameras
The wide side cameras cover people seated to the left and right of the tower. That’s the area a front-of-room camera struggles with most. In a boardroom with glass partitions on both sides, the MTower stays focused on participants around the table rather than depending on a single distant camera angle.
A Qualcomm QCS8550 processor handles Yealink’s Best-view Switching. The important bit for the user isn’t the processor name. It’s what happens when the conversation moves around the table: the system can present a more suitable participant angle rather than keeping everybody locked into one static wide shot.
Why Center View Matters in a Real Dubai Boardroom
Take a 10-seat rectangular table. Four people on each side, one person at either end. Put the only camera below a 75-inch display. The people facing the screen are easy. The participants down both sides are viewed at increasingly sharp angles as they get closer to the camera.
Now add MTower around the middle of the table. The meeting has another viewing position close to the participants rather than several metres away. When discussion moves from one side to the other, the room system has a centre perspective available instead of relying entirely on the image from the wall.
This is particularly useful in executive rooms, legal meeting rooms and finance offices where facial expression matters. A director discussing a contract across a DIFC boardroom doesn’t want remote participants seeing half a face for 40 minutes. Same issue in Abu Dhabi government rooms or DMCC trading offices where longer tables are common.
360° Microphone Pickup — With an Important Distance Difference
MTower also carries a 6+1 microphone array with 360° voice pickup. The maximum capture distance is up to 6 metres, but that number needs context. Around 3 metres is the stronger quality zone. The outer distance is maximum capture, not a promise that somebody six metres away will sound identical to somebody sitting beside the device.

For room planning, use the 3-metre figure when deciding where people should sit for stronger voice capture. Treat the 6-metre figure as the outer reach of the array. In a Dubai office with ceiling HVAC running hard for much of the year, positioning the tower properly matters more than simply quoting the largest distance on the datasheet.
Because the microphones listen in all directions, the unit works naturally from the centre of a table. There’s no need to point the microphone side toward one group of seats. During installation, placement should still avoid being buried behind laptops, flower arrangements, tissue boxes or the pile of chargers that somehow appears in every shared meeting room.
Physical Privacy Without Guesswork
The camera assembly uses an automatic magnetic-levitation privacy shutter. When privacy is required, the camera is physically covered rather than relying only on an on-screen icon.
That’s a small detail until the room belongs to a legal team, a financial department or a government office. In those environments, staff often want to see that the camera is blocked when the meeting ends. Mechanical privacy is easy to understand from across the table. Closed means closed.

Yealink identifies MTower as a Microsoft Teams Rooms meeting-room accessory. It should be planned as part of a compatible room system rather than purchased as a USB camera for an individual laptop.
If you’re building a new Teams room from scratch, it makes more sense to choose the complete room architecture first and then add MTower where the seating layout benefits from centre view. MTower isn’t a standalone meeting-room system
Don’t order MTower expecting it to replace a MeetingBar, MVC kit, room PC, touch controller or main front camera. It is a companion center-view camera for a compatible Microsoft Teams Rooms deployment. If you’re starting with an empty room, choose the core room system first. If you already have a compatible Teams room and side-profile views are the problem, MTower is the accessory to look at.
Content Sharing and BYOD — What MTower Does and Doesn’t Do
MTower doesn’t replace the content-sharing path in your meeting room. It adds the centre camera and microphone position. Laptop sharing, wireless presentation and BYOD still come from the compatible Teams Rooms system and whatever sharing hardware has been designed into that room.
That distinction avoids a common ordering mistake. If a visitor walks into your DMCC boardroom with a laptop and needs to present a spreadsheet, MTower isn’t the device they plug into. The host room system handles the meeting and presentation workflow; MTower provides the additional participant view from the table.
For rooms that need wireless presentation alongside the MTower deployment, we can add equipment from the Yealink Wireless Presentation & BYOD range where it is supported by the chosen room system. That is planned as one room design rather than treating the camera, controller and sharing equipment as unrelated boxes.
Can MTower Connect to Your Office PABX?
Not directly. MTower is a camera and microphone accessory. It doesn’t register as a SIP extension to a Grandstream UCM, 3CX, Yeastar, Avaya system, Etisalat business voice service or du SIP account.
If the meeting room also needs calls to normal telephone numbers, that function has to be handled by the main conferencing system or the office telephony platform. We check that separately during the room design. The important point: buying MTower doesn’t change the PABX architecture of the office.
For companies running a mixed voice and video estate, the meeting room can be designed alongside Yealink IP phones and the existing Etisalat or du voice service. MTower remains on the video-conferencing side of that setup.
What Comes With the Yealink MTower?
The exact pack contents should be checked against the shipment SKU before a project order is released. MTower itself is the centre-view camera unit; the complete room still needs the compatible Microsoft Teams Rooms equipment around it.
Not included — plan these separately
Display or displays, Microsoft Teams Rooms compute, room touch controller, main front-of-room camera, table cabling and any wireless presentation hardware are separate unless they are specifically listed in the quoted room bundle. MTower should not be ordered as if it were a complete meeting-room kit.
Where We Usually Specify MTower
The strongest use case is a rectangular executive room where people sit along both sides of the table. The existing front camera may already cover the room perfectly well for framing, but the remote side still gets poor face angles once the discussion moves away from the far end.
Legal rooms are another obvious fit. When six lawyers are working through a contract around a long DIFC table, facial expression and eye direction matter. The same applies to finance reviews, investment meetings, board sessions and senior management calls where remote participants need to read the room rather than just hear it.
We also see the case in hybrid training rooms where tables are arranged for discussion rather than classroom seating. If everyone faces one presentation wall, a table-centre camera may add little. If teams turn toward each other and talk across the room, the second perspective becomes much more useful.

MTower Installation in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
Installing MTower isn’t a case of dropping it in the middle of the table and hoping the room software finds it. We first check the compatible Teams Rooms system, table length, seat positions, front-camera location and cable path. Then we choose the position where the centre view actually improves the participant angles.

Can I use the Yealink MTower by itself in a meeting room?
No. MTower is a centre-view companion camera and microphone accessory for a compatible Microsoft Teams Rooms deployment. It doesn’t replace the main room compute, controller, display or front-facing camera. If the room is currently empty, choose the Teams Rooms system first and then decide whether the seating layout needs MTower.
Will MTower help if people down the sides of our table appear in profile?
That’s one of its main use cases. MTower sits closer to the centre of the participants and adds a 322° camera view from the table. Its three 4K cameras provide additional angles that reduce dependence on the single camera mounted at the front of the room.
How far can the MTower microphones pick up voices?

Does Yealink MTower work with Zoom Rooms as well as Teams?

Will MTower connect directly to our Etisalat, du or office PABX?
No. MTower isn’t a SIP telephone endpoint. Etisalat, du, 3CX, Grandstream UCM, Yeastar or Avaya calling is handled by the host room or office telephony system. MTower adds camera and microphone coverage to the meeting room rather than acting as the phone system itself.
