Give it a SIP account on your office phone system and it becomes the meeting room extension: staff can place calls, receive calls and create up to 5-way SIP conferences directly from the table. With a laptop-based speakerphone, the meeting experience depends on whoever brought the laptop, which application they opened, whether the USB device is selected correctly and whether the laptop needs to leave halfway through the day. Power over Ethernet makes the fixed-room setup tidy as well. Connect the phone to a PoE-capable network port and the Ethernet cable carries both network connectivity and power. In a glass meeting room with a clean table and floor box, that’s one less adaptor and one less mains cable to hide under the tabletop.

The 6 + 1 Microphone Layout Explained

You will sometimes see the CP925 described simply as having seven microphones. Technically, that hides the useful part. Six microphones are arranged to capture speech around the table through 360 degrees. A seventh microphone has a separate job: noise cancellation.

The aim isn’t to make a noisy room silent. It is to keep speech intelligible when the room has the normal background sounds found in a working office. Still important: don’t place the phone directly under an AC diffuser or beside a projector fan if the table gives you a quieter position. Good installation still matters.

The CP925 uses a 4-inch 480 × 800 capacitive multi-touch display. Calling functions, contacts and conference controls are handled from the screen instead of surrounding the unit with physical keys. SIP: This is the main office-phone role. Register the CP925 as an extension on a compatible SIP phone system and use it as the permanent audio conference endpoint in the room.

Bluetooth 4.2: A mobile device can connect to the CP925 for hybrid use. That gives the room another path for audio calls when the meeting isn’t coming through the normal SIP extension.

Dual-band Wi-Fi: Built-in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless networking gives the installer another network option. For a fixed conference room we still prefer properly planned wired infrastructure where possible, especially in busy DIFC or DMCC offices with dozens of nearby wireless networks.

PSTN through CPN10: Some UAE offices still have an analogue line or a legacy telephone connection that needs to remain in service during a migration. The optional CPN10 connects the CP925 to PSTN and supports local 3-way PSTN conferencing. It is an accessory, not part of the standard CP925 package. Platform Compatibility — Keep the Roles Clear

The CP925 should not be described as a Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms appliance. It is an IP conference phone. If your requirement is a meeting room that signs into a native Teams or Zoom room account, shows the room calendar and drives a camera and display, choose equipment from the Yealink video conferencing range instead.

For an audio-only room running through a SIP extension, the CP925 is much simpler. Give the room its own extension, put the phone in the centre of the table and keep the meeting audio independent from whichever laptop happens to be in the room that day. Hybrid Calling When the Meeting Isn’t on the SIP Extension

Not every audio meeting arrives through the office phone system. A customer may call someone’s mobile. A regional manager may already be connected through another application. Someone walks into the room with the call running and wants ten people around the table to hear it properly.

The CP925’s built-in Bluetooth 4.2 gives the room another route. Pair a compatible mobile device and use the conference phone’s room audio instead of putting a smartphone on speaker in the middle of the table. Six pickup microphones still listen around the table, while the CP925 handles the room-side speaker and microphone duties.

There is an important boundary here. The CP925 isn’t a native Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms system. If your requirement includes a camera, room calendar, HDMI display and one-touch native video meeting join, use the Yealink video conferencing range. The CP925 is for the room where voice conferencing is the main job.

Connecting the CP925 to a Dubai Office PABX

The CP925 is a SIP conference phone. In a normal office deployment, it receives its own SIP extension from the company’s IP-PBX or hosted voice service, just as a desk phone would. Staff then call the meeting room extension directly or use the CP925 to dial external numbers through the configured telephone system.

That makes it suitable for organisations running a standards-based SIP environment. The exact server address, authentication details, transport settings and outbound calling rules come from the PBX or service provider. During installation we register the phone using those supplied credentials and test inbound and outbound calling before the room is handed over.

For Etisalat by e& or du business voice services, the CP925 is normally used through the customer’s approved SIP/PBX setup rather than treated as a replacement for the operator service itself. The correct arrangement depends on how the office voice service has been delivered. Send us the existing PBX model or hosted-voice details before installation and we’ll confirm the connection path.

CPN10 — Useful When the Office Isn’t Fully IP Yet

Plenty of UAE offices upgrade in stages. The new floor may already run SIP while an older meeting room still has a conventional telephone connection. Rip everything out at once? Usually unnecessary.

The optional Yealink CPN10 gives the CP925 a route to PSTN calling. Yealink specifies local 3-way PSTN conferencing when the CPN10 is used. That can be useful during an office migration where the meeting room needs to stay operational while the wider telephone estate is being moved to IP.

What’s in the CP925 Order — and What May Be Separate

The main item is the Yealink CP925 conference phone. Network and power planning depends on how the room is being installed. A PoE-enabled network connection can supply both data and power to the phone, which is usually the cleanest arrangement for a permanent meeting-room table.

Where the room is using Wi-Fi instead, power still needs to be planned separately. We check the network arrangement before installation rather than assuming every conference table has the same floor box, switch configuration or available cabling.

Central Management for Offices With More Than One Room

One CP925 in a boardroom is easy to look after locally. Ten or twenty conference phones spread between Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are different. IT needs to know which device belongs to which room and whether the configuration is correct without walking from floor to floor.

Yealink’s device-management tools support SIP-device administration, including device records, account assignment, site organisation and configuration control. That gives an IT team a sensible way to organise a larger Yealink phone estate instead of treating every meeting room as an isolated box.
