Description
Yealink W74P Premium DECT IP Phone Dubai
The reception phone rings while the supervisor is two rooms away. A clinic assistant leaves the desk to check a patient room. A warehouse manager walks from the office into the stock area and the desk phone stays exactly where it was installed. That’s the problem the Yealink W74P is built around. The user carries the handset; the SIP connection stays on the W70B base.
In a Dubai office, the part that needs planning isn’t the handset. It’s where the base goes. Yealink rates the system for up to 50 metres indoors and 300 metres outdoors under suitable conditions, but concrete cores, fire doors, lift shafts and glass-partition layouts can change the usable indoor distance quickly. A W70B mounted beside the network cabinet in the back corner of a DMCC office may give a very different result from the same base mounted centrally on the working floor. We check placement before treating the published range as the real-world range.

Where the W74P Fits — And Where It Starts to Struggle
The W74P is a single-cell DECT system. One W70B base can register up to 10 handsets, 10 SIP accounts and handle up to 20 simultaneous calls. That makes it a sensible fit for a reception team, clinic, small warehouse, showroom, workshop, restaurant back office or a normal SME floor where staff need to move but still stay inside one DECT coverage area.
| Site Type | Typical Requirement | W74P Fit |
|---|---|---|
| Reception / SME Office | 1–5 mobile users on one floor | Good single-base use |
| Clinic / Retail | Staff move between rooms or counters | Good if one base covers the site |
| Warehouse / Workshop | Longer walking distance, walls and racking | Survey base position first |
| Large Multi-floor Site | Roaming across several coverage zones | Move to a multi-cell design |
Not the right fit?
If users need to roam between several floors, separate buildings or a large warehouse without dropping coverage, don’t build the site around one W70B and hope the signal reaches. The W74H handset can also work with Yealink W75B, W80B and W90B multi-cell systems. That lets you choose a larger DECT architecture without throwing away the handsets already in use.
W74P and W74H — What You’re Actually Buying
The names are easy to mix up. W74P is the starter system: one W70B DECT base plus one W74H handset. W74H is the handset by itself. If you already have a compatible Yealink DECT base and only need another user handset, buying another complete W74P kit usually isn’t necessary.
The W70B is the network side of the system. It connects to the LAN through 10/100 Ethernet and supports IEEE 802.3af Class 1 PoE. In a clean installation, that means the base can be placed where DECT coverage is useful rather than where the nearest power socket happens to be. One Ethernet cable can carry network and power when the connected switch provides PoE.
The W74H is the part staff carry. It has a 1.8-inch 128 × 160 colour display, Bluetooth 5.1, a 3.5 mm headset port, vibration alert and full-duplex speakerphone. For people who spend most of the day walking between counters, treatment rooms or stock locations, those details matter more than having a large desk-phone screen. See the wider Yealink DECT phone range if you’re comparing single-cell and multi-cell options for the same site.
Up to 10 Handsets Without 10 Network Points
One W70B can register up to 10 DECT handsets. The handsets talk wirelessly to the base, while the base handles the Ethernet connection. For a clinic with 6 staff handsets or a showroom with 4 roaming users, you don’t run one LAN cable to every handset position. The network lives at the base; the users move.
10 Minutes on the Charger, About 2 Hours of Talk
Yealink rates the W74H for up to 24 hours of talk time and 320 hours standby. The fast-charge figure is useful in shift-based sites: around 10 minutes on the charger can provide roughly 2 hours of talk time. A handset returned to the cradle during a lunch break or shift handover doesn’t necessarily need a full overnight charge before it becomes useful again.
Six Optional Repeaters on a W70B Deployment
Yealink supports up to 6 optional repeaters with the W70B-based system. A repeater can help extend DECT coverage into an area where one base almost reaches, but it doesn’t turn a single-cell design into a full multi-cell roaming system. For a long corridor or an office split by a heavy concrete wall, a repeater may solve the gap. For several floors or a large distributed site, a W75B/W80B/W90B design is the cleaner route.
DECT Range in Dubai Buildings — Read the Number Properly
The published range is up to 50 metres indoors and 300 metres outdoors under suitable conditions. That does not mean a handset will travel 50 metres through every building in Dubai. A straight corridor with light partitions is one thing. Two concrete service cores, a fire door and a lift shaft between the handset and base are another.
Glass partitions in DIFC, JLT and Business Bay offices usually create fewer problems than reinforced concrete, but metal framing, server-room shielding and dense shelving can still change the result. Warehouses add another variable: high racking filled with metal stock can block or reflect RF differently as inventory moves. So we don’t place the W70B inside the network cupboard just because the patch panel is there. A PoE connection gives more freedom to position the base where the users actually walk.
For a normal single-floor office, start with the base near the centre of the required coverage area rather than at one extreme. Then test the real walking route: reception to meeting room, desk to pantry, clinic desk to treatment room, warehouse office to dispatch point. Numbers on a datasheet are useful. A live handset call while walking the route tells you whether the installation is actually right.
SIP and Office Phone System Compatibility
The W74P is a SIP DECT system. The W70B supports up to 10 SIP accounts, so the base can register user extensions supplied by a compatible SIP PBX or hosted voice service. The exact account details — registrar, authentication, codecs and outbound rules — come from the phone system you’re connecting to.
For UAE installations, that means we verify the PBX or hosted SIP service before configuration rather than assuming every Etisalat, e& or du business voice package exposes the same SIP credentials. Some office phone services are delivered through a managed gateway or provider-controlled router. Others give the customer standard SIP extension details. Same handset. Different installation method.
If your office already uses fixed SIP phones, the W74P usually sits beside them as the cordless layer rather than replacing every desk device. A receptionist may keep a wired phone with more keys while warehouse or clinic staff carry W74H handsets. For desk-based users, see our Yealink IP phone range; for mobile users on the same phone system, the DECT setup handles the walking.

What Comes With the Yealink W74P
The W74P is the starter bundle. You get the W70B DECT base and one W74H handset, giving you one working cordless SIP extension as the starting point. From there, additional compatible handsets can be registered to the same base until the W70B reaches its supported capacity of 10 handsets.
That distinction matters when you’re quoting a 4-user clinic or an 8-user warehouse. You normally don’t need 4 or 8 complete W74P bundles. One W74P establishes the base-and-handset system; additional handset requirements are built around compatible Yealink DECT handsets.
Not included — order separately if needed
Additional W74H handsets, DECT repeaters, Bluetooth or 3.5 mm headsets, PoE network switch, PBX licences, SIP accounts and any multi-cell base hardware are separate requirements. We size these around the number of users, the building layout and the existing phone system before the order is finalised.
One Base or Multi-Cell? Decide Before You Add Handsets
A W70B can handle up to 10 handsets, but handset count alone doesn’t tell you whether one base is enough. An office with 9 people sitting on one compact floor may work comfortably from one correctly positioned base. A warehouse with only 4 users could need something larger if those users roam across loading areas, storage zones and offices separated by reinforced walls.
This is where many DECT installations go wrong. The buyer starts with capacity: “I only have 6 users, so one base is enough.” The better question is coverage. Where does the furthest user walk while still expecting the phone to ring? How many concrete barriers sit between that point and the W70B? Does the route cross floors?
If the answer stays inside one practical coverage zone, the W74P is straightforward. If the site needs several overlapping coverage areas, the W74H can move into a W75B, W80B or W90B multi-cell environment. That upgrade path is useful because you’re changing the DECT infrastructure, not automatically replacing every handset.
A practical Dubai example
Six staff in a JLT clinic can be easier to cover than three staff in a warehouse in Dubai Investment Park. User count is lower in the warehouse, but steel racking, fire doors and long walking routes make RF planning harder. That’s why we size DECT by the actual floor plan rather than handset quantity alone.
PABX and SIP Setup in UAE Offices
The W70B is the point that connects the DECT system to your IP phone environment. Up to 10 SIP accounts can be configured on the base. Which extensions appear on which handsets depends on how your PBX is set up and how the users are meant to answer calls.
For an office already running SIP extensions, the W74P is normally added as the cordless side of the same phone system. Fixed users keep their Yealink desk phones. Mobile users get DECT handsets. Reception can transfer a caller to a warehouse supervisor, clinic assistant or floor manager without that person being tied to a desk.
Etisalat, e& and du business voice deployments aren’t all presented to the customer in the same way. Some installations expose standard SIP account details. Others terminate the provider service on managed equipment and connect the office PBX behind it. We check the existing service before promising direct registration to any particular carrier account.
If the site is being built from scratch, we can plan the DECT phones alongside the fixed extensions rather than treating them as separate projects. The wider Yealink DECT phone range covers single-cell, rugged handset and larger roaming requirements.
Installation — Base Position Matters More Than It Looks
Mounting the W70B next to the switch because the cable is convenient can be the wrong decision. The base is also the RF centre of the DECT system. Put it in the wrong corner and the user spends the next year discovering dead spots.
1
Check the walking route — We identify where the handset actually needs to work: reception, meeting rooms, stock area, clinic rooms, workshop floor or dispatch counter.
2
Place the W70B — PoE lets the base use one Ethernet cable for network and power, making a central RF position easier even when there isn’t a mains socket beside it.
3
Register and test — SIP accounts are configured, handsets registered and a live call is carried along the expected user route. A working call at the desk isn’t enough.
Yealink W74P UAE supply and installation is available in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. For offices in DIFC, DMCC and JLT, glass partitions are common; for industrial sites, concrete walls and metal storage usually deserve more attention. Installation is included with supplied systems.
Where the W74P Makes Sense
Clinics: A receptionist can transfer a call to a handset carried between treatment rooms instead of asking the caller to ring back. Vibration alert is useful where the ringtone shouldn’t interrupt a consultation.
Retail and showrooms: Floor staff can answer an extension away from the counter. One W70B can support several handsets where the shop floor stays inside one usable coverage area.
Warehouses: The handset goes with the supervisor instead of waiting on a desk beside the office door. This is also the environment where we’re most careful about quoted range because steel stock and racking change RF behaviour.
Hospitality and service teams: Up to 24 hours of rated talk time and the 10-minute fast-charge behaviour suit handsets that spend long periods off the cradle and move between shifts.

Related Yealink Products for the Same Phone Project
The right bundle depends on whether you need another handset, a different DECT architecture, fixed desk phones or user audio. These are the usual products and categories we put beside a W74P project:
Yealink W74H handset — add users to an existing compatible base without buying another starter bundle.
Yealink W70B base — the single-cell base used in the W74P bundle, useful when planning replacement or additional isolated DECT zones.
Yealink W73P — another single-cell DECT option when you’re comparing handset style and project cost.
Yealink W80B / W90B multi-cell systems — for sites where users must roam across several coverage zones instead of remaining around one base.
Yealink IP phones — fixed desk extensions for reception, finance and office users on the same SIP environment.
Yealink headsets — useful where staff want hands-free calling rather than holding the W74H during longer conversations.
Yealink accessories — for supporting items required around a wider Yealink phone deployment.
Yealink W74P Supply to Abu Dhabi and Across the UAE
Yealink W74P supply and installation is available in Abu Dhabi as well as Dubai. For an Abu Dhabi clinic, warehouse or office, the same rule applies: send the floor layout or explain the furthest walking route before buying extra repeaters or bases. That usually tells us more than the handset count.
For multi-site UAE projects, we can keep the handset model consistent while changing the base architecture by site. A compact Dubai office may use W70B single-cell. A larger Abu Dhabi facility can move to multi-cell while retaining compatible W74H handsets.
W74P Export from Dubai — Africa and MEA Projects
We supply Yealink W74P and W74H project quantities from Dubai to telecom resellers, PABX installers and IT distributors working across Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Angola and Mozambique.
For reseller orders, the useful split is normally complete W74P starter systems plus the exact number of additional W74H handsets required. That keeps the base-to-handset ratio sensible rather than shipping a base with every user.
Larger projects can combine DECT handsets with fixed SIP phones in the same export shipment. We can also separate single-cell and multi-cell requirements when the project covers several buildings or branches.
FOB Dubai pricing is available for project quantities, with documentation prepared for export shipments. Send the destination, quantity of W74P kits and quantity of additional W74H handsets on WhatsApp for the correct project build.
For mixed UAE and Africa deployments, keeping the handset family consistent can simplify user training while the DECT infrastructure is sized independently at each location.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can one W74P cover our whole Dubai office?
Possibly, but don’t decide from floor area alone. Yealink rates the W70B for up to 50 metres indoors under suitable conditions. Concrete walls, lift shafts, fire doors and metal structures reduce real-world coverage. We check the route staff actually walk before deciding whether one W70B, repeaters or a multi-cell system is the right design.
Do I need one W74P kit for every employee?
No. The W74P is the W70B base plus one W74H handset. One W70B supports up to 10 handsets, so a multi-user setup normally starts with one base and then adds compatible handsets as required.
Will the W74P work with our Etisalat, e& or du office phone service?
The W74P is SIP-based, but UAE carrier voice services are deployed in different ways. Some provide SIP credentials directly; others terminate on managed equipment or connect through your existing PBX. We check the current phone system before confirming the registration method.
What happens if we grow beyond one W70B base?
The W74H handset is also compatible with Yealink W75B, W80B and W90B systems. If the site grows into several coverage zones, the handsets can move into a larger DECT architecture instead of automatically being replaced.
How long does the W74H battery last during a working day?
Yealink rates the W74H for up to 24 hours of talk time and 320 hours standby. A 10-minute charge provides roughly 2 hours of talk time, which is useful when a handset returns to its cradle only briefly between shifts or site rounds.
Is the Yealink W74P in stock in Dubai, and do you install in Abu Dhabi?
